As some of you may have noticed, II has been overtaken by sporks. Most of the material posted in the past few months have been overwhelmingly sporkish in nature, and while sporks aren’t necessarily bad, a bit of variety is a Very Good Thing.

And so II is currently in the market for non-spork material, particularly in the areas of writing tips, tricks, advice, and opinions.1 Basically, if it is writing-related and not a spork, please submit it and we will love you forever.2

If you have never submitted to us before, submissions can be emailed to submit[at]impishidea.com either in-text or as an attachment (.rtf, .odt, .doc, and .docx are all acceptable). Be sure to include what name you would like to write under, as well as your preferred email address, if different from the one used to submit, and we’ll set you up with an account.

If you already have an account but can no longer access it, please leave a comment below with the name you wrote under and we’ll sort things out.

Footnote Fun

1 I am looking at you, Tim. I pray you do not dash my hopes.

2 For a given value of “forever”, to be subjectively determined at a later time.

I guess I’d better hurry up and write that article about my perspective on Mary Sues, then, even though I still have my doubts about how good it’ll be.

I was actually going to write a review of Tiger’s Curse(just the first book) for this blogging site I am a member of.

I might actually write a review to submit to this site. However, I’m not sure if I’d be able to post the review anywhere else since I already promised that I would do a review of the book for this blogging site.

    @Ryan

I’d recommend not cross-posting, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for telling me that. Most likely won’t submit my review here but I could give you guys the link to the review when I type it up.

But only if you guys want to read it. Not going to force anyone to do so.

The Great Gatsby review/analysis pending. It’s a bit belated, sorry! In addition, I’d like to work on a piece about strong female characters who are NOT tomboys constantly kicking everyone’s asses.

Is this a call for me to see about picking up my writing tips column? lol (I think I did a few on my blog)

We looking at just ‘about’ writing or we thinking of doing any works too? (story cubes, “fan fic fights” where the winners of forum showdowns get front page, etc)

    Yes.

I haven’t been around much (family issues), so please forgive me for being late to the party. I have a half-finished essay-type thing on the casual sexism presented in YA novels these days. If I were to finish it, would it be the type of material you’d be looking for? (I can elaborate if you’d wish.)

Most definitely. Also, there’s no need to apologize for not being around all the time. Life happens. :)

Azure, that sounds like exactly what II are looking for! I look forward to reading it.

I’m still working on a small essay/thoughtramble re. the fantasy genre, as mentioned in the forum a while back. I won’t be touching the debate about what is/isn’t fantasy, I’ll leave that to more pedantic minds than mine.
