Hi everyone. In case you're wondering, yes I am the same Komedic from Uru'baen, and later Deus Ex Machina (whatever happened to DSM, any way? Did it get shut down like UB?) though I'm not as much of an obnoxious vulgar twit as I was when I was an active poster there (well I like to think I'm not, at any rate)

My latest project is Thrown With Great Force, a youtube series devoted to lampooning crappy fantasy novels in the vein of other great internet critics like the Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, Spooney, etc. Okay, admittedly it's not going to work out as well as the aforementioned since the subject matter is not a visual medium, but I've made one episode so far and I think it's turned out pretty well.

My first target is - you guessed it - Eragon, in honour of Anti-Shurtugal, the community from which this site is originally descended, where I first learned the art of snarky constructive criticism (and by extension, much of what I know about writing in general) at the tender age of fourteen.
Future targets include the rest of the Inheritence cycle (natch), Twilight (and possibly its sequels), The Amber Spyglass (but not the first two books in the series) and the Da Vinci Code, but Eragon is going to take so long to cover it'll probably be months before any of those reviews get to see the light of day.

Parts 1 and 2 of Episode 1 are here (sorry, don't know how to embed)

I also plan on opening a facebook account to host the series (believe it or not, the first time I've had anything to do with a social networking site!)

Not bad, I think you're doing a good job of making good points. Its well researched and sourced as well, looking forward to the next video, Komedic.

Also, to embed something you do:

    "insert text":inserturl

And make sure you have textile selected in the box below.

Episode 3 is now up. Sorry about the delay, not that any one cares, since no one seems to be watching, unfortunately.

The audio could be better quality, but that aside, the episodes are amusing, so I look forward to seeing more.

Indeed, if this is something you plan on doing for quite a while you might want to invest in making the audio quality better.

About the sound: I don't use a physical mic, I use a piece of sound-recording software called "polderbits." It's Dutch, apparently. I bought it a while ago for £15, if I remember correctly - the only time I've personally bought a piece of software. I'm really not very "tech-savvy", so I don't know if that's cheap or expensive by software standards. Would a hardware mic be better?
