Yeah, I like their colors, as stated. But when I saw them on TV a couple years ago, they had lime green and bright yellow. They looked like highlighters. But I like bright colors. I’m not a sports person, so this is my pathetic attempt to be spirited about it.

  2.

They wear new uniform combos pretty much every game, since the guy who owns Nike is an alum and spends an assload of cash on them. Some of the combos are better than others.

They’re actually a dark horse title contender so far this season, but I’m skeptical until they actually play some decent competition. Their offense has been putting up so many points it’s actually a little indecent, though. IIRC their lowest score so far was 41 against Tennessee, with their other two games somewhere around 70.

That explains why only saw the highlighter ones the one time.

I’m guessing this is good. It sounds like they get high scores.

    Colts won, Colts won!

    Happy dance

  4.

It was only against the Gants, though.

Yes, I meant to spell it that way. Deal with it.

Texans comeback made today a good football day.

  5.

As a Texan, I like the Texans, but I don’t feel like they deserved that win, mostly because Shanahan was demonstrably ballsier than Kubiak.

Cowboys are 0-2. Texas football is thus tied at 1-1, when you take an average.

  6.

Yeah, that’s as terrible as the Colts ._.

At any rate, I’m looking on the upside of everything. Steelers are gonna be salty as hell once they get Roethlisberger back.

I’m guessing this is good. It sounds like they get high scores.

Yes. A touchdown is worth between 6 and 8 points(almost always 7), so it takes around 10 TDs worth of scoring to get that high. Both teams combining to score 70 is an above average game at most levels of football(Big 12 South notwithstanding).

I am a Steelers fan as my whole family came from Pittsburgh, and my dad tried to get me to like their sports teams.

    Hockey=boring to watch for me.
    Pirates=roflmao
Steelers=Only team I like mainly because they do ok.

Pittsuburghers are so proud of their football team lol. It is really funny.

To wrench your attention away from North America the US for a few seconds: I have been known to watch rugby, cricket and “soccer”. I have watched the former and the latter live, and even got to watch three games during the World Cup. That said, I’m not an uberfan of any sport, so much so that only international games vaguely interest me.

Maybe it’s because I’m female, but when I do attend a live sports match, which doesn’t happen often, I do it more for the atmosphere/camaraderie rather than the actual action on the field. That about sums up my view on the subject of sports.

    Live at the stadium?

I completely agree with you. I went to a Sports Bar to watch the USA vs. England game, and even though that game wasn’t all that exciting it felt like it was because of the crowd.

  8.

Sorry, yes, live at the stadium. Germany vs Serbia, Switzerland vs Chile and England vs Slovenia. The last two games were pretty exciting. The first one was all right but the intimidating German supporters made up for it – some of them got into a brawl in the stands a few rows above us and were escorted out.

After the England game – unlike the other ones – cops with full-on riot gear circled the stadium just in case of trouble. That was rather amusing, although there were no incidents. But then, England did win that one. ;)

That’s a better reason than I have, at least. I just got interested in the NFL in 7th grade and, as the tallest, strongest kid on the team, I got stuck on the OL when I was much better at RB, I ended up overidentifying with Jerome Bettis.

People tend to accuse me of bandwagoning them when they find out I’m a Steelers fan, and then I ask them if they want to see my Kordell Stewart jersey.

  10.

I’m giving up college football this season. It’s just not fun anymore.

So, the Saints and the Pies have drawn at the Grand Final. There’s to be a rematch soon.

    Im sorry Sansa.

I hope soccer never gets boring for me. In practice today after 9 mini games my team had only let in 1 goal and won of all of the games. Playing right back is sooooooooooo much better than sweeper.
  11.

Ain’t no thing. It frees up my Saturdays.

Good NFL day for me today, since all my teams won walking away. Nice to see signs of life from Dallas. I’m not that optimistic about the Titans’ chances though, because Jeff Fisher is letting his dislike of Vince Young color his football judgments.

The Steelers are probably going to kill everybody once Big Ben gets off his unjust suspension, if today is any indication.

Also, some poor ref during the Dallas-Houston game had a meltdown there for awhile, which was both hilarious and sad.

    Meh. :glance

I thought that was one of the most boring football games I’ve ever watched.

  13.

It wasn’t terribly amazing outside of the Manningham sideline catch, which was absurd. It’s unfortunate Rob Gronkowski was trying to play on a high ankle sprain, because he ups every game’s excitement level by a factor of ten.

Giants did their Gianty thing though and got incredibly lucky a bunch of times. That doesn’t show up on the scoreboard, though, so good for them.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t even know which colors corresponded to each team.

I actually don’t know why I watched so much; the commercials were almost completely horrible and I find American football a very boring game.

  14.

How is it possible to appreciate American football “on a cerebral level”?

  15.

It’s really easy, if you know what you’re looking at.

I follow baseball and football. We’re all New Englanders in my family though, so the last Super Bowl is not to be mentioned at the dinner table. Ever.

  16.

Does… does that mean you share my love of the Gronk?
