I’m going to the American Regions Mathematics League as a member of Minnesota’s gold team, so I’ll be occupied for a while traveling and competing. Just a heads up so you know why development is stalled yet again.

  1.

    Good Luck!!!

    O.o…

  4.

Didn’t you pass the math part of the SAT when you were 11?

Break two legs, Sly, and necks too.

  5.

Now I’m not a big maths fan, but I’m guessing this is something quite big. Good luck, and go win us all a medal!

And if you can’t remember what 1+1 is? Just stall for time. Compliment the adjuticator on his tie or something.

  6.
    Good luck!

(a bit late, I suppose but yeah...)

Thanks for the best wishes guys. They must have worked too, because this was a great year for me. I’ve become a disk keeper, one of three carriers of frisbees passed down all the way from 1997 when we were last national champions, so in other words I’m a captain now. We didn’t actually do that hot as a team, but we’ve got a lot of room to improve for next year.

However, I’ve got to say, University of Iowa is a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Its fields don’t drain well, which makes ultimate frisbee a wet mess (we beat Chicago though, those snooty bastards), the dorms are all under construction (they’ve become labyrinth like), the “food” is a poor immitation of the real stuff. But maybe I have high standards.

  7.
Ha-ha, in France, the first thing people look at in colleges or camps is the food quality.

In France most college is paid for by the government, right?

Ouai, ouai! (yep!) And the healthcare system's the best in the world. Come live here, really; I'd love to meet all of you in person!

And the healthcare system’s the best in the world.

I don’t know, parts of the Nordic countries might want to contest this claim. :P I’d like to live in Norway at some point, but France seems nice too.

  9.
Norway... I've heard they're très racist there, but I've never been. Actually, in respect to healthcare, in a close second comes England. Although, this is what I gathered from the Michael Moore documentary Sicko.

Hah, England. Not if you want dental care. :P

  10.
I have a friend who's British; he just got hi braces taken off. He's going to have to get them again; must be genetic! URGH, MY FREAKING INTERNET KEEPS DYING!!! Sorry, I'm done now.

Ha, believe me, it sounds prettier when you don't understand what they're saying. :D I really want to learn either Flemish or German. Ooh, and I have to work on my British accent.
  13.
I'd like to go to Finland.

British accents, mm. Half the appeal of Keira Knightley right there. :P

  14.
I wish I could talk in a British accent. It just sounds much better than the 'American accent'. Which in itself doesn't really exist, because you have several different accents all across the country. (I actually have a bit of a Boston accent, even though I wasn't born there. Maybe it's because I lived in MA for eight years...)

What do people like about British accents? It would be interesting to see what other people find interesting about how we speak.

I can’t really tell whether or not I have a Minnesotan accent, but I suspect I don’t have a very strong one.

Yah, sure, you betcha, you don’t got a strong Minnesota accent or you’d know it. (The second part must be read with a mental strong Swedish accent. Which is difficult if trying to determine whether or not you have a Me-nah-soh-tah accent. Southern hicks might think you do but compared to back woods Minnesota, no.)

Yeah, Sly, where we are from we don't have a strong accent at all. We're to close to the cities. I have family who have the hardcore Minnesota accents, though.
  15.
Ha ha, british accents are hot. French accents... not so much. But, I dunno why British accents are hot... It's not unlike how skinny jeans on guys can have some people going *yum* (me) and others going *retch retch*

I maintain I don’t have an accent… I live in mid-US, sort of on the northeastern side- OK, OK, I live in Michigan. But I still don’t have an accent, everyone else does! glares at everyone else

Right. Riiiight. All Michiganers have accents. It’s the Missourians who don’t have accents.

  16.

Well, speaking as an Australian (I’m going to regret bringing my nationality into this after a lot of ocker jokes, aren’t I?), you all have accents

  17.

Speaking as a cynic to me you all have accents.

  18.
Hey, Aussies are cool. My best friend has an Aussie accent. Anyhow, basically, if you can't place it, the accent you have is considered American.
  19.

Lol. You know what’s sad? That on Shark Tale it took me a second or two to realise that Katie Current had an Aussie accent. I watch so much American stuff that I actually went ‘what the heck is that accent? Oh, wait, it’s mine…’
