Don’t bite my head off or anything, but I was listening to the Twilight soundtrack just now and damn, it’s really good. Perfect for my late night writing endeavors.
Beautiful by B2ST. Yes, it’s in a foreign language but I have English subs and the music video is just cool. :D
DOWN THAT PATH INTO DARKNESS DEEP AS HELL!
‘Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay
WHY YOU ASK WAS I BOUND AND CHAINED IN THIS COLD AND DISMAL PLACE?
Ukraine Calling, Haydamaky
Clibanarius, I know you were listening to ‘Out Ta Get Me’ a LONG time ago, but I would definitely check out Halestorm’s cover. They’ve got an amazing vocalist.

Plug in Baby by Muse
“End of an Era” is finally on Amazon, so I can download it now. I am so happy. :D
The remastered version of I Robot was on sale at Barnes & Noble yesterday, so I bought it. The remastering itself isn’t really worth it (although not half bad, it isn’t really half good, either), but the bonus tracks are kinda cool.
Oh? I hate competition, Lizzy Hale is mine, mine I tell you! :P
Looks like I’ve created a monster. I’m cool with that.
Listening to Simon and Garfunkel in the car is bringing back old memories. However, when I was five I probably did not think that Simon has a sexy voice.
Hotel California by The Eagles
Law of the Land – Satanic Rites
Aah, yes… for some reason, this song reminds of the song in the animated series of Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. =D
Nocturne No. 2 by Chopin
Can’t stop listening to “In Your Room”, by Depeche Mode. Awesome song.
‘Fur Alina’ by Arvo Part. SO BEAUTIFUL. It’s really good to listen to while writing, relaxing, or just thinking. This song is probably one of the reasons that the piano is my favorite instrument.
good writan muzak
I Got Life, Hair
@ RVL, awesome song :D
I love it. I’m learning it on piano, currently, and I’m very very very close to having it as good as I want it. :D
Supermassive Black Hole by Muse
A Little Fall of Rain.
WHY have I lived this long without seeing Les Miserables? I still haven’t seen it properly, just youtube clips of the 10th Anniversary spectacular.
WHY have I lived this long without seeing Les Miserables?
^^ A question everyone should ask themselves.
Yellow by Coldplay
Everything Is Ending by Chameleon Circuit
I’ve become a huge fan of SHINee, B2ST/Beast and Super Junior.
XD
Everything Is Ending by Chameleon Circuit
I love that song! Mostly because it’s a great song even without understanding the Doctor Who references :)
Early Morning Blahs, by My Suite in College
^^ Agreed. :D
Sleazy Bed Track by The Bluetones
WHY have I lived this long without seeing Les Miserables? I still haven’t seen it properly, just youtube clips of the 10th Anniversary spectacular.
I’ve been a fan for four years now, and I still haven’t been able to see it. (Hey, it’s not my fault it hasn’t been touring).
But it’s coming to Boston in March, and I’m already super excited.
You Could Drive a Person Crazy, Company

Nantes by Renan Luce
No, it isn’t one of her actual releases, it’s a piece she did for a talent show years ago. And it is really gorgeous. Just her and a piano, and music and lyrics she wrote herself.
Drugs?
Also – I’ve acquired the Ginger Snaps Theme Song.
It’s awesome.
And scary.
With or Without You by U2
^Hahaha, how very fitting; my contribution right underneath a song about a dog.
:-)
Nightmares by Chameleon Circuit
Wish You Were Here – Incubus
One of those 90’s radio hits that pop out of your subconscious once in a while and demand to be listened to. I’m falling in love with the slow, melancholy energy of this song’s guitar.
Inkblot, is that a Pink Floyd cover?
Nope. It’s really good though. It’s one of those ones where “you’ll-recognize-it-as-soon-as-you-get-to-the-chorus”.
Side by Side by Side, from Company
Get Ready to Die by Andrew WK
I wish everyone knew that song. It is so awesome.

When I read that, my first thought was ‘ah, so it’s volume.’ Damn you, School, you’ve institutionalized me!
The Sound of Drums by Chameleon Circuit

Nephilim- Katatonia
Aldeberan by Enya
See? There is other metal besides Maiden :P
Who said that I don’t listen to any metal besides Maiden? To wit: Dio, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, (old) Metallica, (old) Nightwish, Epica, Opeth, Dream Theater, Tool, Ayreon, Katatonia, (old) Theatre of Tragedy, (old) Lacuna Coil, Agalloch, Gojira…
I know, I’m just being obnoxious. : )
Oh. Haha.
Don’t I feel a bit foolish now…
The true mark of a metalhead – instant willingness to pick a fight with anyone seeming to insult the One True Music.
Also, Life in Technicolor II by Coldplay. The vaguely oriental-sounding string intro is impossibly catchy.
Stay With Me by Alex Day
Hollywood by Michael Buble.
I found a stream of the entire new Opeth album…on NPR.
Heritage is such perfect studying music, so I’m thus far very happy with the album.
@Clib – Rumors of the infamous clashes between Metallica and Megadeth fans still echo down the grapevine. :P
In Between by Linkin Park. The gentle keys in the chorus are so painfully beautiful.
Well, yeah, it was a few years back. Actually most of Metallica’s Christian as well.
Want to try something funny? Read that sentence again, let the shock deepen, and then go back a few albums and try to find anything that’s actually anti-Christian (Whatever album Whiplash is on, I can’t guarantee that one). It’s surprising how many Christian-neutral or even positive elements you find.
TBH that’s a secondhand rumor, and I had the exact same reaction as you the first time I heard it, but enough people have told me that with conviction that I believe it now.
Huh. I have an excuse to listen to them now :)
Who needs an excuse for Metallica?!
Aw, man, that was hilarious. I just made fun of metalheads and then without EVEN THINKING did exactly what I just finished mocking. I invite you all to laugh at me with me.
HAHAHAHAHA

Eh, it’s not really about Christianity. In fact, those musicians that do bash Christianity often have the same issues with all religions, not necessarily with God. Metal is a highly individualistic genre that tends to place pride on personal strength, rather than depending on someone else.
Case in point: Slayer wrote the song ‘God Hates Us All’. The frontman said ‘He doesn’t hate…but it’s a good title for a song’. I don’t really like Slayer, because if you’re going to write a song, at least MEAN WHAT YOU SAY.
But the point is that there are definitely religious people in the metal scene, just as there are Satanists (though I think Satanists are hilarious just because they’re trying to be so dark and evil all the time).
Interestingly, I listen to several metal bands that are apathetic or hostile to religion’s abuse and excesses, but none that are anti-Christian (in terms of Jesus’s ideals of peace or love) or Satanist (which are really a minority in the first place). I actually do listen to a one or two Christian bands.
The Council of Elrond by Howard Shore
Interestingly enough, I wake up to this song every day. :D
Still Alive from portal is awesome, if you played the game you know that. If you haven’t played the game, don’t listen to the song, because it contains spoilers for the game. [The same goes for the other songs I’ll link too. ;-)] Want you gone is good, but it is so different from Still Alive. Which may or may not be a good thing. I like it, but someone made a cover of Want you gone in the style of Still Alive. I think it’s very good.
I’ve had that awful “Tonight Tonight” song stuck in my head for days. It makes me want to do violence.
My brother showed me ‘Still Alive’. I liked it, even though I haven’t played Portal.
“Tonight Tonight”
Is that the “Tonight’s gonna be a good night” one? I hate that one.
No, but I hate that one too. The one I’m thinking of is some white-people song that features maybe four lines in the whole thing that actually rhyme.
Is that the “Tonight’s gonna be a good night” one? I hate that one.
Obligatory ew.
I was exposed to way too much popular music at summer camp.
On the other hand- Sickman- Alice in Chains. :D
On the subject of popular music, “Move Like Jagger” is surprisingly catchy, and the singer clearly has talent.
Maroon 5? They are quite decent.
Bob Dylan sounds like he’s got a sock in his mouth.
But I love him anyway. <3
Like a Rolling Stone, Bob Dylan

Doesn’t Christina Aguilera also sing that song? Say what you want about her music, but nobody can deny that she’s one of the best singers of this generation.
