Enjoy.
And have you already listened to Bad Romance… in Drone?
Or Justin Bieber))), it’s also in Drone! XP
Try any song in Youtube with 800% slower.
Or download PaulStretch 2.0, it’s the software used to modify the songs.
In the Ghetto by Elvis Presley.
It seems I prefer older songs or lesser-known songs. :P

Sweetest Kill by Broken Social Scene

Imaginary Flying Machines – Tonari No Totoro

Don’t Know Why by Nora Jones
I guess this goes in the music thread? Lady Gaga wouldn’t give Weird Al permission to parody her Madonna rip-off, so I now kinda hate her instead of just being mostly uninterested.
Al is sacrosanct.

Aw, that would have been awesome, even though I don’t know what song you’re talking about.
I heard that he’s releasing it anyway, though, which is nice.
Is it me, or is the Game of Thrones theme music suspiciously similar to the Song of Storms?

He’s already put it up on Youtube, but he’s not going to make a video for it or use it as the flagship single of his new album, which is what he’d planned. He’d be legally in the clear to do so even without Gaga’s permission, but it would violate his personal principles.
The reason he’s really put off by the whole deal is that, if she just didn’t want him to use her song or poke fun at her, she could’ve nixed it way earlier. Instead, she apparently wanted to hear the song, and then he sent her the lyrics, but she still wanted to actually hear it, so he went through the time and expense of recording it and then she said no, which is some weak ass shit.
Aw, that would have been awesome, even though I don’t know what song you’re talking about.
“Born This Way.”
Is it me, or is the Game of Thrones theme music suspiciously similar to the Song of Storms?
I wondered why it sounded so familiar… o_O
“Born This Way.”
I didn’t like that song.
Weirdly enough, I went on YouTube, and on his video description for the song, it says that she approved the parody, so I don’t really know what’s going on with that. Maybe she changed her mind…? I don’t know why everyone’s making such a big deal about it anyway- it’s no ‘Smells Like Nirvana’ or ‘White and Nerdy’. Lady Gaga is such a caricature by design that poking fun at her image, while entertaining to a point, gets old after a while. Maybe if this had been released a year ago, it would have been more relevant.

Yeah, in the time since I posted, they’ve since declared it a “miscommunication” and “Gaga never heard the song” and other such horseshit, but the upshot is that he’s got his permission now, so he can go forward with the album, which is good.
I didn’t like that song.
I don’t either, because I think it’s an idiotic vector for arguing for minority(especially gay) rights. There’s plenty of strong arguments you can make for that cause without resorting to logic that could just as easily be used to argue that pedophilia should receive legal protection. Also I don’t like pop music.

Tell that to the school posters, sitcom episodes, and thousands of other songs, books, and movies that encourage you to ‘be yourself’ (‘Firework’ by Katy Perry, anyone?). Lady Gaga simply took an accepted message that is widespread across society and applied it to gays.
As for Lady Gaga’s personality, I cannot vouch for that. Lots of people are jerks with inflated egos.

But I get all my morality from sitcoms. Are you saying this is bad? Can anorexia really not appear and disappear in the course of a couple of days? Can’t anyone be attractive if they get contact lenses and lose the pony tail?
Go listen to Metallica until you feel like you can be reasonable about this young lady!
I’m more of a Tool girl myself…helps me do calculus. :)

I never said that this was a particularly good message, only that it’s overwhelmingly common. Therefore, I don’t find it especially surprising that she used it. The song is too sugary sweet for me to like, partly for that reason. I’m just pointing out that she’s not the only one.
I don’t know, I have a soft spot for Lady Gaga, even if her music isn’t that good. She always seemed like she would be an interesting person to have a conversation with just because shes’ so weird. (It also amuses me to no end that she fangirls over Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden. I am still secretly hoping that she goes metal one day, because in terms of the 80s glam hair-metal style it wouldn’t be that far of a jump.)
Well, it’s not exactly Glam Metal…

I wasn’t being sarcastic at you. I was being sarcastic at TV shows, etc. I was attempting to agree with you. Just so you know, I wasn’t directing my sarcasm at you if that’s how it came across.
Sorry, sometimes it’s hard to detect sarcasm in text.
No worries. That’s why I clarified.
Ever since playing Portal 2, I can’t stop listening to Exile Vilify by The National. It’s really addictive!
I just blew 25 bucks on Itunes, so now I have Dylan’s The Times They are A-changin, Into the Woods, and some other random broadway stuff.

EDIT: Born This Way by Lady Gaga. First song I’ve ever heard where Gaga’s not singing about romance, love, or has a slutty/romance message behind it.
Wait. Except for “capital H-I-M”. But that’s not the message behind it anyway… is it?
capital H-I-M
Refers to HIM, the band.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIM_(Finnish_band)
Ohhh… okay… So it’s a song that does not have any reference to romance, love or slutty things.
:D
Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin
Ladies Who Lunch, from Company.
Best musical ever. SQUEE Sondheim.
<3 Sondheim… Is that from Into the Woods?
This is Me by Charlie McDonnell
No….Ladies who Lunch is from Company, which is probably the best musical ever written.
Now I’m listening to the opening song from Company, which is also called Company. and it’s performed by the company. Confused?
Oh, sorry, Inspector, I thought you wrote “Ladies Who Lunch by Company”. ;)
Uprising by Muse
My sister has been playing and replaying this diabolically catchy and idiotic Bollywood song ALL AFTERNOON. The only cure is Lady Gaga…which creates a whole other vicious cycle of idiotic catchiness.
I think that was obvious right from the start. :P
I like Guns ‘N Roses as well, though not as much as you.
Shut Your Eyes by Snow Patrol
Metal Machine Music – Die Krupps
Ballad of Hollis Brown, Bob Dylan.
I like Bob Dylan.
Ah, yes… the wonders of PaulStretch 2.0. =D
But I like more Bad Romance 800% slower.
Sorry to all you who aren’t fans (see above debate), but I think she’s amazing. She’s always coming up with something new, her music is damn catchy, and it is really fun to listen to, ok?
Wait a second…
Are one of you here secretly Todd? (or is my deja vu acting up again)
Also, on the way back home yesterday I popped in this mystery cd I had acquired awhile back. It’s like… german metal or something. I’ll get with my friend again who identified it.
Prologue from Phantom
I was watching part of Wizard People, Dear Read on YouTube, and there was a link to a trailer for We Are Wizards, which is apparently a documentary about Wizard Rock, which is a bunch of bands centered around Harry Potter. Then I got a bunch of links to Wizard Rock songs. Some of them are amusing, but I’m having trouble really liking it, yet I keep listening to different ones anyway. I also plan to watch that documentary on Netflix streaming.

And this is also for Kilgore… can you guess to which band is the song a tribute to? Name the band and the song. =D
Watermark by The Weakerthans. Hopefully I’ll be able to replace the cycle of songs that have been getting stuck in my head over the last few days.

Though in the vid it’s just one song, I got it as an epic song of 14 minutes called Mahayuga pt. 4 – Kali Yuga.
I knew I had listened to that rythm earlier… and after I found out… whoa!
This just started my Middle Eastern Metal binge again… I just had recovered from the days of Arsames and their lyrics about Persian history and mythology, and now I find this band, Kartikeya.
Real Life, from Tick Tick Boom. No one’s ever heard of this musical, it seems…
