Like I said before, Mulan was win.
    I loved it.
The sequel, however, was probably the suckiest sequel I’ve ever seen.

  3.

^^I’ve never seen the sequel. I didn’t have the desire. Now I’m glad I didn’t.

I haven’t before, but I’m listening to it right now. Thanks for the heads up ;D

LOL at the intro track. They take this stuff seriously. But man, the actual tracks are pretty awesome. I can’t believe I’d never heard of them before. I only found out about them when looking up Wheel of Time.

  9.

Yeah, the weird little transitions are…weird but

the actual tracks are pretty awesome.

Basically. :) Have you listened to their newest album? They have two songs about ASOIAF, but I’m still most attached to Nightfall in Middle Earth and assorted other songs.

Have you listened to their newest album?

Heck yes! Mostly because that was the album with Wheel of Time; I still have to read ASOIAF >.>

If there was a concert I would willingly go to, it would be a Blind Guardian concert.

  10.

Yeah they seem like they would be good live.

    Märchen by Sound Horizon

Finally got my copy of the album, and I like it quite a bit, though I’m not sure how it compares to SH’s previous albums. It was a pleasure to listen to, and the stories are hilarious and adorable—not words that I normally associate with Sound Horizon. Anyways, I’ll still be listening to it on loop for the next week :D

Also, the lyrics booklet that came with the limited edition was noted to be picturebook-like. They didn’t say that the book was hardcover and embossed and that the package had panels with a full colour illustration of each story. Gimmicky yes, but still pure awesomeness XD

I'm trying to find a song that fits the second chapter of "The Pearl" by John Steinbeck. It's where Kino and Juana find the pearl in the ocean. The only two songs that I can find that have lyrics similar to the scene are "Take Me To The River" by Talking Heads and "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, which is stuck in my head right now. Does anybody else know a fitting song for this scene? I'm still hunting.

Because I’ve been obsessed with Mass Effect lately, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack too, and… it’s actually pretty good, even though I didn’t notice it much in the game. In particular, the track from the last part of the second game is amazing. It pulls in cues and themes from other important pieces in the soundtrack. The first time I listened to it, I was doing something else but had to stop and just listen to the song, it distracted me that much!

    It’s here, btw.

  46.

Maiden never really got my blood pumping the way the others do.

How does Maiden NOT get your blood pumping? It’s so bouncy and hyperactive as far as metal goes. In fact, in my head if metal bands were stereotyped as one person, Iron Maiden would be the nerdy, overactive guy who likes to wave around insanely large swords and charge wildly around the room, whooping battle cries.

That’s just me, of course, and I’m not even a huge Maiden fan.

I dunno, it's just so. . . mild compared to what I'm used to.

Don't get me wrong, they're very good but it just doesn't do anything for me.
  47.

You’re welcome to your own opinion, of course. I’m not especially fond of GNR, so it’s all square anyway. Old Metallica I like, however. Something about James Hetfield’s twangier tone in the newer records just puts me off.

  48.
    Twang. . .?
  49.

Maybe it’s a personal thing. I don’t know, I just can’t get into the newer stuff. Funnily enough, I think it was what I was first exposed to.

  50.
    Huh.

Yeah, the newer stuff is. . . I don't what it is, it just seems like most of the good stuff had it's golden age in the 80's and early 90's.
  51.

I wish I was a teen in the 90s. There were so many awesome bands/musicians around.

  52.

Argh. Being forced to listen to Taylor Swift’s Love Story, Justin Bieber’s One Time, Hannah Montanna/Miley Cyrus’ Best of Both Worlds and all the other singers killed me the last couple of days.

Although Taylor’s voice is pretty good. And Justin’s got a shot if he changes his songs and his voice.

Try listening to them simultaneously. Eventually they merge into a singular whining noise that drowns out all thought and sanity.

  53.

Although Taylor’s voice is pretty good.

Her voice is only good when the studio fixes it. I watched a live video of her once, and it just about made my ears bleed. So screechy.

  54.
I've heard that live she's actually pretty flat.

If the Beiber would quit trying to sound like Kurt Cobain he'd be at least tolerable.

    @ No One.

You have my my sympathies, that is more than anyone should have to take. It's bad enough eaving to endure Taylor Swift, but what you're going through makes that pleasant by comparison.

But you can't just grit your teeth and endure it. You need to retaliate, get on Youtube, look for Guns 'N Roses, turn the volume way up.

    And let Freedom RING bady.
  55.

If the Beiber would quit trying to sound like Kurt Cobain he’d be at least tolerable.

Wait, what? I didn’t think his voice had started really cracking yet.
