Madame Guillotine from The Scarlet Pimpernel. Honestly, after hearing it, I want to direct a high school play, just to do this song. This was the musical we just did at school, but the director didn’t do as much with this song as you totally could.
My sister got to see The Scarlet Pimpernel with her choir…we saw stupid George M. I have never hated a protagonist more in my life (except Bella)...and if you’re on Bella’s level in my book that’s pretty sad.
Frogs- Alice in Chains.
It’s quite hilarious at times, and also quite serious. I recommend seeing it. If nothing else, listen to Madame Guillotine. Creepy awesome song. :D
My taste in music does not suck.
Aww…
That is making me dizzy.
My favoritestest album ever.
obligatory Thrice fan highfive
“Your Hand in Mine” by Explosions in the Sky
Butterflies and Hurricanes by Muse
All of the Pink Floyd was taken from Grooveshark. >:[
But since then I discovered the London Philharmonic Orchestra has done their songs, so woot.
Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats.
This entire musical is one big, long earworm.
Ah, Cats still has you in its claws.
Hymn by Ultravox
I’m listening to Rum Tum Tugger belt out about what a heartbreaking cat he is.
Damn him.
Always, by Erasure
Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Anyone who doesn’t know where this song comes from should be summarily banished :P
We listened to a bunch of Romantic pieces in Humanities. I was quite pleased to discover that I could recognize maybe 4 or 5 out of 7.
Anyone who doesn’t know where this song comes from should be summarily banished :P
He is not, one of us!
Deception,
Disgrace…
:P
I’m listening to Rum Tum Tugger belt out about what a heartbreaking cat he is.
Oh, but he’s so pretty, though!
I’m listening to Nostalgia Critic’s review of Quest for Camelot.
He broke my heart :( Ours was gay ! O.O
He broke my heart :( Ours was gay ! O.O
I’ve suspected that Tugger might swing that way, but, dammit, he’s one sexy cat!
I want Munkustrap, too. And Mistofolees.
I’m listening to the Invitation to the Jellicle Ball.
He was a sporting gay though. :D He was quite wonderful. He even signed my white cat ears! (yes. I’m just that dorky. there’s a reason I love Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer) AND THAT BOY HAS MAGIC IN HIS HIPS.
Everyone wants Mr. Mistoffelees.
I’m listening to Memories- and crying all the way through :D
BWAAR. I love Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer.
I’m listening to their song right now.
Oh wait, it ended. Now it’s Old Deuteronomy.
You know what I’ve decided? I love Gus the Theater Cat. He’s especially adorable in the movie version. His song nearly made me cry… I just wanna hug him. *sniff/tear
I’m listening to Nostalgia Critic’s review of Quest for Camelot.
I laughed so hard. I confess I vaguely liked the movie when I was…six.
It’s so hilariously awful.
@ Kinst-
At the theater here when I saw it Mungojerrie stopped at a bald guy, rubbed his head and shouted, “HEY I CAN SEE MY REFLECTION!” and Rumpelteazer saw me (I was in the second row and they were prancing around in the audience stealing people’s hats) and went “HERES A MISSING CAT! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE ONSTAGE, YOU NAUGHTY THING!” pulls off my cat ears gasps loudly “ YOU IMPOSTOR!”
XD
Quert for Camelot is only memorible for this song.
That song is an atrocity! It’s so bad, it’s HORRIBLE
I hated that movie in general, but I forgot how much I loathed that song. And the creepy Elvis butt wiggle… my eyes!
I just think its funny.
It did, however, produce “The Prayer” which is covered by SO MANY PEOPLE I want to rip my eardrums out every time I hear it now.
The Tank by The Dear Hunter
I vaguely remember Quest for Camelot from somewhere but I know I haven’t seen the whole thing.

That’s amazing! Lucky you!
I’m currently listeing to We Can Work It Out. I love the Beatles..
And I saw Quest for Camelot in the theaters as a little kid, and remember liking it. But that was a long time ago.
Speaking of the Beatles, my new obsession is Across the Universe. (Song, not movie, although I liked the movie too.) Fiona Apple actually had a pretty cool cover with a really appropriate music video.
Yes. ‘Twas funful :D
Phantom of the Opera (from the Phantom of the Opera)
:D
WOO WOO,
Butterscotch High by Marc Robillard. It’s wonderfully soothing.
Can I Give You A Kiss by Kelly Clarkson.
No Angel- The Confession
Remixes of old C64 chiptunes that, while excellently-written, are too ear-bleedingly buzzy to listen to unaltered.
Maggie Mae, the Beatles.
Rule the World (aka the Stardust ending song), Take That.
I have that stupid Flashdance medley we’re singing in choir stuck in my head.
Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Bach
“Sixteen Military Wives” by the Decemberists. The sound of the song is nice.
All you musical/movie music fans out there: Do people have any suggestions for songs to sing for senior citizens? Something easy, preferably, because I need to have it ready by Saturday. Thanks for any help.
“Sixteen Military Wives” by the Decemberists. The sound of the song is nice.
I love that song.^^
The Spirit of Man from War of the Worlds
^^ Dear god, YES! swoons
There is a curse on mankind!
We may as well be resigned
To let the Devil— the Devil take the spirit of Man~!
@ Puppet – It’s very fun, and the video is great.
Decided that what songs I’m going to sing for my community service event…now I need the instrumentals.
Ooh, what song?
La Haine from Roméo et Juliette
My more upbeat song is Que Sera, Sera. I know it’s kind of cliche, but I think I’m the only singer in attendance among a plethora of bandos and orchestra kids, so whatever I sing should be okay. And then my slower song will be Moon River.
(The theme is movie music/musicals, but I couldn’t really find anything I liked from a musical that was a solo song and upbeat, so both my songs are from old movies.)
Telephone is stuck in my head. Oh, Lady Gaga, you fantastically fabulous nutcase.
Hello, hello, baby;
You called, I can’t hear a thing.
I have got no service
In the club, you see, see
Wha-Wha-What did you say,
Oh, you’re breaking up on me
Sorry, I cannot hear you,
I’m kinda busy.
K-kinda busy
K-kinda busy
Sorry, I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy.
Shelob’s Lair by Howard Shore
I keep looking behind me when I listen to this song… >.<
Ooh, I’m listening to the part where the Nazgul are chasing the Hobbits.
All my loving, the Beatles
Me from Beauty and the Beast
I just re-discovered this song; sooooo funny! :D
Full Moon Flyer, by Synergy
My Dad is singing “Do you know the muffin man”. Grr.
DO YOU KNOW THE MUFFIN MAN THE MUFFIN MAN, THE MUFFIN MAN...
Heheh, it’s been a while since I heard that song…
Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again from Phantom of the Opera
Don’t Stop Believin’, by Journey
The Four Seasons (Autumn, part III/III) by Vivaldi
What do you get when you cross Lovecraft with Fiddler on the Roof?
A Shoggoth on the Roof!
“Hello, I’m the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it so you don’t have to!”
I’m listening the Rock a Doodle review again.
PotO is just so much win.
Indeed, ‘tis. :D
Est-ce que c’est ça? by M
My Arms Your Hearse is an awesome album. :)
Viva La Vida by Coldplay
I used to roll the dice,
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
Now the old king’s dead, Long Live the King!
My favourite lines:
For some reason I can’t explain, I know Saint Peter won’t call my name
and
and I discovered that my castle stands Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand
I love that song. :D
Violet Hill by Coldplay
Currently listening to Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Angst!Marius is great.
Hyper Music by Muse
Don’t Look Back by Alex Day, the same guy who does “Alex reads Twilight”. It’s actually not bad and the scenery = 8D
Holding On is also very pretty, by the same person. :3
Indeed. Watching his videos makes me want to go to Britain. D:
La Sicilienne by Fauré
Dancing Queen – ABBA
Joanna from Sweeney Todd
Rum Tum Tugger, Cats.
I want him. :D
I want him too, Inspector.
Owl City’s singer keeps reminding me of Death Cab for Cutie’s singer.
I can only assume the acronym stands for Phantom of the Opera. In which case….gag.
I register my disagreement, and reiterate that PotO does indeed contain significant winfulness.
Agreed. :D
I can only assume the acronym stands for Phantom of the Opera. In which case….gag.
Well, the movie is kind of gag, but I like it anyway. (Gerry in tight pants = yum.)
But the real cast recordings from stage productions are better.
And the book wasn’t gag-worthy of all.
The movie is a little gaggy, but it’s got the best set and costume porn I’ve ever seen, as well as full orchestra parts, so I don’t complain. Plus I can watch it whereever I like, as opposed to the stage show.
(And why is it always Gerard Butler? WHAT ABOUT PATRICK WILSON, HUH????)
Don’t Let Me Down by Leona Lewis
If they hadn’t groomed her to sound American, and she’d just gone Brit, she would’ve sounded so much cooler.
Defying Gravity from Wicked
It Sucks To Be Me from Avenue Q
(And why is it always Gerard Butler? WHAT ABOUT PATRICK WILSON, HUH????)
He looks like me Mum. So ew.
Currently listening to the printer, because I am at the library and there is no music here.
I love Avenue Q, Moldorm! :D
La Haine from Roméo et Juliette
I thought this would be most appropriate to discuss here: my women’s ensemble went to a choral competition for Southern California Women’s groups and we brought home third!
Really surprised, considering I don’t think that that was our best performance and the other schools were really good for the most part. But still, it’s pretty exciting.
Congratulations!
What were you singing?
Um, we sang a required piece (Lift Thine Eyes from Elijah...bleh. Never again.), a folk song, and a Latin piece.
Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera
Tradition, From Fiddler on the Roof.
Owl City’s singer keeps reminding me of Death Cab for Cutie’s singer.
Maybe you’re being reminded of the Postal Service when you listen to Owl City?
The way Adam Young sings reminds me of the way Milo Ventimiglia talks, so that’s who I imagine singing whenever I hear Owl City. Yeah.
D:
Anyway. I’m listening to some hymns right now because my mum’s trying to learn the harmonies and I’m helping her. Apparently The Old Rugged Cross is really tricky.
