I’m just guessing, but I’m gonna say that you:
only listen to Broadway show tunes
won’t eat fish
randomly speak in rhyme sometimes
garden
prefer driving automatic cars to manuals
And that everything else is false.
My hypothetical character…
1. is a vegetarian
2. wants to learn at least two more languages
3. loves swimming
4. wants at least two children, but only in her late twenties
5. has a vast shoe collection
6. sighs a lot
7. gets around town on a red scooter
8. collects coins
9. never wants to leave her small hometown
10. thinks dogs are the greatest animals ever
Here are a few:
-always carries a small first-aid kit around
-tends to do complicated calculations on post-its or little bits of paper rather than full sheets, resulting in a desk covered with piles of disordered notes
-enjoys accordion music
-used to sing in a boys’ choir
-has a slight obsession with Arthurian legend
-colours his/her hair
-only knows friends through the internet/through online games
-speaks fluent Welsh
-practices calligraphy
-hardly knows any songs by heart
-is a good sprinter, but burns out fast
-collects shells and pretty rocks from the beach
-hates overpowering scents
-likes oversized clothes
So… quirk prompt for a change: reasonable/unreasonable childhood fears?
Fear of heights, stairs and an uncle.
more quirks!
- has a tattoo they regret. – lapsed health nut – has a smile that unintentionally makes them look evil – prefers sad music to happy music – likes family dramas (genre, not real-life happenings)
-loves to fight. – things coming out of their mouth tends to be either very depressing or unintentionally hilarious
- obsessed with muscle tone
This is a quirk that has been shared by at least three characters in three different stories I’ve written:
- is a caffeine junkie
Maybe it’s Author Appeal combined with Write Who You Know, because I know a couple of caffeine junkies in real life, the guy in the mirror included. Sorry – I’m struggling with the hidden text-thing.
some more quirks:
- likes reptiles more than he/she likes mammals – eats eight times a day – instinctively bursts out laughing when in shock, even if whatever happened is not remotely funny
- often gives impression of being cunning/evil because he/she’s often smiling to themselves over some funny memory randomly
