I was going to wait a bit on this, but it appears the opportune time will be impossible. Allow me to explain:

I have in mind a somewhat lengthy type of fan fiction known popularly as a “fix fic” for Paolini’s Inheritance cycle. “What’s the problem with that?” you might ask. “The fourth book is about to come out. You can have your fix fic up here in plenty of time for the November release.” And, indeed, you would be correct. Now for the problem:

Because the problems of Inheritance run so deep, I wish to utilize a character from another fictional universe in such a way as to shed light on the issues and help resolve them. Thus, the fix fic would also be what is popularly known as a “crossover fic.” The problem with this is the character I want to use is from an as yet unpublished fiction of my own. The book is nearly done, and I’d hoped to actually get it published before Paolini’s cycle ended.

Alas, it is not to be. Faced with the choice of either using my unpublished character in a timely fix fic or waiting until the character is published and the fiction is much less timely, I’ve opted for the former.

I’m making this announcement so that if you see my Eragon fix fic, you already have an answer to the question, “Celestine? Who is she? She’s not in Eragon!”

An Eragon fix fic would be awesome. I’ve read a few decent ones (or ones that gleefully ignore canon in favor of a good story, usually by rightly pointing out that Eragon is kind of a jerk and the so-called bad guys usually aren’t all that bad after all. I’m talking about Opifex’s Black Dragon stuff, in case you’re wondering.), but one by you would be most appreciated.

This sounds interesting, can’t wait for it to come out!

On a related note, will you release any information about Celestine from your own personal files etc. so that we have more of an idea of who she is in her own ‘universe’?

At least to begin, I’ll let the story answer these questions (i.e. as she learns more about Eragon’s world, we learn more about hers). When the story is ended, if there’s continued interest, I may make more information available.

It might actually be very cool to portray the Varden kind of like the Taliban, like how the people fear and hate them as much or possibly more than the oppressive military force in the area.
