Over 1,000 posts in just over three days. Craziness. :)

Yeah, people have been posting a lot already.
  1.
I have to say, I think the purple story thread is the best. Or the one where I introduce myself...
    heh heh.

Are we getting the old forum posts onto here as well?

IMO I think that would sort of slow things down or something, because I mean you can always start the same topic again, and the old topics were on the old forum so it might have some trouble (I don't know fitting in?). But thats just my opinion. :p
  2.

Then we must redouble our efforts to make up for the loss! :D

I don’t think I’m going to be able to come up with a practical way of adding the old forum posts back, so I’m not going to try. :P

    That’s just absurd. :P

  4.

Just link to archives of both old forums in their original forms, with all posting locked.

Well, the oldest forum has been deleted, because I currently don’t have enough space on my hosting plan. That’s about to be upgraded though, so problems like that can be avoided in the future. The other forums are here: http://impishidea.com/forum_archive/.

Amazing! This forum is full of joyful activity and bustle, not unlike a dead dog over a termite mound on a hot day!
    ;)
  5.
    Lovely comparison.

Not mine, of course... Terry Pratchett wrote it in one of his earliest Discworld books.

    STEPH. DARIA. YOU WIN.

(yes, this is the first topic I noticed your avatar).

    DARIA.

  6.
    I haven't read Discworld. I have to.
  7.

    @ Jeni:

Glad you like. It took me ages to find something small enough.

  8.
Yes you do. Also, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is also worth a read.

And everything else involving Pratchett. Good Omens in particular is immeasurably awesome.

  9.

    No love for Douglas Adams?

  10.

    Nope.

    I love Douglas Adams!

With all due respect to his script-writing abilities, though, the movie sucked. The parts they added in (the sneezing people, etc.) were hilarious, but I didn’t really like the new “interpretation” of the old story.

“Oh, we could talk about ‘normality’ til the cows come home.”

    “What’s normal?”

    “What’s home?”

    “...what’re cows?”

    Sorry… it’s my favourite line. D:
