@Kyllorac, what kind of philosophy are you guys studying?
It seems I’ve just been offered a summer internship opportunity. Now is a really bad time to have to write up a resume, though, because I have a jillion other things going on. :-/
The typical, boring Western branch which I am already quite well-acquainted with. I wanted to study Eastern, but Western is a prereq. D:
I lost my purse today. The best part: the person who found it was the honest type and returned it to me. :D
Congrats RVL! :D
Thankies, Dia. :D
I have almost no homework this weekend. :D
Lucky. envious glare
ACT went well. :D
I wrote a Les Miserables fanfic about a venus flytrap. yay me!
A venus flytrap? That puts me in mind of Little Shop of Horrors.
I really want to say this: I am over the person with which I was infatuated.
No, I’m not socially inept enough for something to actually have happened and they weren’t mean or something. It worked out somehow.
And our musical was awesome! And our production this term will be greater. And ballroom dancing isn’t as bad as I presumed.
Go hmyd! :D
Thanks!
AND MY COMPUTER PLAYS CDS AND DVDS
All I need now is to have the card reader actually work or get the family camera to work properly.
Just got my best friend hooked on Firefly. :)
Yay! I had an awesome night last night- hung out with friends, had a pillow fight, practiced pouting (I suck at it. I can manage puppy dog eyes, but not pouting, apparently), played with a nerf gun, watched both Peter Pan and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and got a magnificent backrub. Life is good.
watched Peter Pan
The Disney one?
I stole my sister’s iPhone, and yes, I’m still in bed using it. I need a nexus one. Sigh.
The Disney one?
No, the live action version from 2003. The one with the disconcertingly handsome Captain Hook.
Ooh, that’s a good one. Hook was brilliant.
“Oh, evil day! He has found himself a… Wendy. And Hook is all alone. “
“Split my infinitives.”
“Growing up is such a barbarous business, full of inconvenience… and pimples. “
Oh, that one. I found the whole romance thing between Peter and Wendy to be kind of annoying, but yeah, Hook was pretty great.
Small Victory: 100 on my on-demand sonnet analysis. YESSSSSSSSS!!! (Now if I can do well on my other on-demand tomorrow on Macbeth and Antigone, then I will be set, at least for this week.)
It’s snowing like mad, and my only class today was cancelled. I have no class today! Woooooooo!
Same here!
Although it really doesn’t make much sense, since I’m homeschooled.
I saw pikchas from my sister’s wedding in December today, and they’re Very Pretty. :D
I have yet to witness a Pokemon-themed wedding, but once I have, I will have seen everything.
Ooh, that’ll be interesting.
I just found out that I can access II at school. ^^ WHOOHOO!!!
And don’t ask why I’m at school this late.
It’s snowing and generally cold outside, buuuut, I did my shopping yesterday. Which means I get to stay inside with a cup of tea and some goodies that I bought and yeeeeah. :3 (Yes, I should work, but I’ll think about that in a bit).
I almost got locked out of the gate that leads up to my driveway, but because of my super awesome climbing skills, I was able to unlock the gate from the inside. So now, instead of freaking out in the snow, I’m nice and warm at home. :D
Also, IT SNOWED!! :D And I think tomorrow is going to be a snow day! :D
We have probably about a foot of snow here, and there was a MASSIVE snowball fight on the quad last night. I fell in with a group of random guys (I knew a few of them), and we were actually using battle tactics (Form ranks! Left face! CHAAAARGE!). We yelled every time we charged, and you know the first thing we yelled? Suggested by this big jock, to my surprise and delight, we yelled “FOR NARNIAAAAAAAAA!”. We also did “THIS! IS! SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA!” at one point. It was so, so worth the numbness, stiffness, and mild pain. We even had a little battle going, one of the frats formed up as well, so we attacked each other. They pulled off a diversion, then a charge. I was on the right flank. We held our ground.
But classes for today didn’t get cancelled. Dangit.
And it’s still snowing :D
@ Willow: That. Is. AWESOME!
In choir, we took a field trip to the bathroom. :D
@ Willow: What, no “Forth Eolingas!”?
Actually, I suggested that several times. I also suggested “For Frodo”. No luck though.
Gosh what a sweet adventure WW. There has been no snow here for a month. :/
Anyway I may possibly have romance in my life?
High fives Yay for you! :D
Stupid Valentine’s Day this weekend >.<
oh my, that. Is a mix tape still considered romantic?
Sure. Only they’re usually emailed or on disk now.
Certain people hate Valentine’s Day, so its all good for me. :D I’m not that much into it either.
@ Adam: Well, I would consider it romantic. batters eyelashes But yeah, if the girl’s into music, I’m sure she’ll see it as a very sweet gesture.
In general, V-Day is sort of pointless as a commercial holiday with cupids and disgusting sweethearts, but underneath all the crap, I guess appreciating your significant other officially isn’t a bad thing, even if you should be doing it every day. Then again, I’ve never had a boyfriend.
Heh, I don’t mind Valentine’s Day, it’s special to me for an entirely different reason.
Also, my friend is sending out wedding invitations. Eeeeee! I can’t wait!
@ Adam:

I think so.
I (as in my roommate) found my cell phone that’s been missing for a PAINFULLY long week.
Snow, Taku: of course. With a big red bow?
Yeah! Bows are always good.
Ah, thank goodness, we just have lectures this morning. I’m way too tired to say anything other than a couple of sentences. To expect me to fully participate… yeah, not happening. But I have just made a thermos of coffee, so it’s all good. :3
COOKIES. 8D
Yummy. :)
Hell must have frozen over, because this is the second time it’s snowed at my house in the same winter.
I’m Extremely Sleep Deprived, but I’ve managed to run perfectly well all day. Now it’s time to crash! :D
FEBRUARY BREAK!
I made my schedule detailing all of the things I must do every day throughout the week so I don’t end up screaming on Sunday. I spend about 4-4 1/2 hours a day on chemistry, but I’ve been able to allot myself 2 hours for writing every day with a bedtime of 10 pm!
I think I did well in my exam…
That would make it my 5th real exam in my life.
I’m not sure…. I think my written expression stories weren’t very good…
And I hope the examiner can read my handwriting. My mum can’t. But then I can’t read her handwriting either.
Still, at least I finished exam.
@ No One: The best thing to do now is just relax. It’s over, good or bad, and I’m sure you tried your hardest, so don’t worry about it!
Juuuuuust relax…... breathe in, breathe out Yeah, I’m a-relaxed now…
Yep, let’s not worry about it! ^^ Thankees, SWQ!
but in the last 8 questions of maths, I’m afraid I slacked off a bit…
just calm down, when I took the ACT last week I just went in there, confident I could do my best. Taking exams or tests are like playing mind games, just answer each question. It was actually quite fun. :D
Well, when you put it that way, I reckon it was fun. Yeah.
Calming down is not my strongest point, but I can calm down. Anyone got a punching bag for me to vent out my feelings on the exam? Then I can calm down…
Just chatting and blabbering away with a friend just made me feel a helluva lot better. :D
Ha, well, none of my real life friends are online…
And my dad’s not conversable right now…
Quiche! :D
And I got to catch the season finale of Legend of the Seeker. Needless to say I was laughing the whole time. ;)
I’ve been watching the second season. It’s still ridiculous, and the antagonists are still frustratingly ineffectual and STUPID.
But it still makes so much more sense than the book, and I’ve watched too much now to stop.
And plus the acting is just hysterical. ;)
Also, eye candy.
What’s Legend of the Seeker?
A book series that got turned into a movie and TV show. The Agony Booth did a recap of it.
Actually, if I understand it properly, Legend of the Seeker is an adaptation of Sword of Truth, not The Dark Is Rising.
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WISHING YOU THE BEST FOR THE YEAR OF THE TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MAY GOOD LUCK AND FORTUNE FOLLOW YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
AND.... UH….. MAY YOU ENJOY THE RICHES OF LIFE!
I got red pocket money!!!!
Actually, if I understand it properly, Legend of the Seeker is an adaptation of Sword of Truth, not The Dark Is Rising.
It is. The movie “The Seeker” is completely different from “Legend of the Seeker”.
But it still makes so much more sense than the book, and I’ve watched too much now to stop.
Ditto. Though the premier of Season 1 had me alternating between tears of laughter and agony. It was so cheesy in places, and the acting was so wooden in others… It didn’t help that I had to keep pausing and rewinding because a particular someone in my family would not shut up.
I miss some of my smilies, I do. >.<
Have you ever had a moment when you produced created something that was unbelievably brilliant (see ending)?
I was practising piano when I started to play these three notes together, and then adding some pieces onto it, replaying and editing, and somehow… I was playing the most awesome improvisational piece. It was glorious.
cough All right, it probably wasn’t that good, but it felt like it. And my sister’s compliments seemed to help.
tldr; I got a musician’s high.
Posted Sly’s valentine after considerable confusion. Hooray!
@hymd: I wish I could have a moment like that. Any chance that you might remember what you played so that you can post it somehow?
As I mentioned in the Progress thread, I’ve started re-redeveloping my languages (again).

In case you can’t see the image, the sentences are:
English: The beautiful flower blooms.
Sengaa: Sha lirenin lirisa nilire’el.
North Sengi: Sale wiledhin wilas inwiledle.
South Sengi: Zhenielo riwalriwasi meriwelo.
Chocolate! I just found the stash of Belgian chocolate that had until recently been hidden. :D Om nom nom.
A couple of guys I know wrote a zombie movie. It is intentionally spectacularly bad. Think funny bad, So Bad Its Awesome. Auditions were last night, and the part of the script I’ve seen is hilarious. There are only 4 chick parts, but I don’t care if I’m a zombie because it looks like so much fun.
That being said, fingers crossed. I really want to play the nice but cynical chick who actually survives. The other 3 are either bitches or die really soon.
Ooh, that sounds really cool, Willow! Good luck!
Stayed up last night watching the Olympics. 8D
Oh, fun.
SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reading TVtropes is a great way to get strange looks in class when you’re giggling like mad.
—
Rob Brydon: And in fact my father grew up in the same street, literally the same street, as Anthony Hopkins
Stephen Fry: In England, we live in houses.

Talked to a friend I haven’t heard from in a while. :D
EDIT: She’s coming here in April!!!
In martial arts today I learned how to do a somersault (not the forward kind, the martial arts roll into attack stance kind). I still can’t stick the landing, but.. I CAN DO A SOMERSAULT.
In other (related) news, I am very sore.
WW, do you mean a shoulder-roll? Those are awesome.
I think I do. You put one knee (say, the left) on the floor in a kneeling position, other leg (right) stretched out. Then you lower first forearm (left), then upper arm to the mat, tuck your head into your shoulder (left), then push with the back (right) foot, knee (left), and shoulder. Legs go over your head, and you land in a fighting stance. So far I’m landing crouching, but I’m getting better. Yay.
Great! Soon you’ll be just like a real commando/ninja!
O.O
I just got an email saying I had a package in the mailroom. I was expecting business attire from my mum. I got a small package from the UK, filled with candy, candy, more candy, chalk, and a BATMAN BIRTHDAY CARD. My birthday is tomorrow.
Jeni, you have won about fifty gazillion internets, and Made My Day. Jeni = <3
Ahahahah, apparently you can’t send Kinder Eggs to America.
WHO KNEW?
I had no idea. What on earth are the pink things, by the way? They’re delicious :D
Taaaaasty.
UK candy always seems better then US candy. xP
Mm, Kinder Eggs look delicious. Damn US laws. Also, I am now craving Cadbury Creme Eggs. Luckily, they do sell those in the US. Om nom nom.
That’s ‘cos we rule.
Yeah.
And we don’t use corn syrup.
Still hate birthdays, Willow? =P
Brits and their Britishness. D:
I’m reconsidering, slightly :P I still have a 5 page paper due tomorrow. But I do have a Batman card, now… I think I’m going to stick it on my wall :D

Awesome! Pretty soon you’ll be able to do them from a standing start and finish in a standing position. :D
The opening sentence of the Letter of Recomendation that my teacher wrote:
“During my thirty years of teaching, I have written many reccomendations. Seldom have I written with such fondness and admiration for a student.”
Awwwwr. Crowning Moment of Heartwarming. Unless he says that about everyone…...
I am late, but may I say that Kinder Eggs are yummy indeed. Happy Birthday, Willow!
Not my birthday until tomorrow, but thanks _
Um, Inspector…aren’t you not supposed to read the letters? I got a couple recently, sealed envelopes with a signature on the seal. Of course, I might have made an attempt to use a lamp to see through the envelope… (it failed miserably, FYI).

No, he gave me an extra copy. He purposely sought me out to give it to me. I didn’t think I“d be allowed to read it, actually, but I was.
I need to make a point to watch athletic competitions and things more often, because when I don’t, I end up with very low morale when it comes time for signing up for swim team. Anyway. The Olympics are good for my motivation.
MOO HA HA, KINDER EGGS. Man, am I glad they didn’t make me go through customs in that case.
...on an entirely separate note,

WHOOP
SUCK IT, PLUSHIE
Totally with you on this one, Elanor. His music selection: fantastic. Height: 6’2. Looks adorable, and his coach says he works “too hard”.
Do I have an Olympic crush? Oh, yes.
HELL YES.
SEX ON SKATES, THAT’S WHAT HE IS.
UNF.
To put it slightly less crudely… yum yum :D
I’m not a big fan of Kinder Eggs… Heheh, sorrys. :D
I got a 10/10 on my English Required Outside Reading project! And my teacher said it was “spectacular.” :D
