    Hear! Hear!

  5.

    ^Preach it, brother!

    In other news:

Dressed me up in women’s clothes
    Messed around with gender roles
Dye my eyes and call me prettyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I don’t think that song was ever meant to be taken seriously, but damn, it’s catchy.
    It’s also awesome.

  6.

Bach’s Sonata for Flute in C. I’ve been humming it ALL DAY.

  7.

    You and I, Lady Gaga.

I….actually like this song. It’s fairly catchy, and apparently she can sing when she’s not auto-tuning the hell out of her voice.

But now it’s stuck in my head.

  8.

AHAHAHAHAHA. Your acceptance of Gaga amuses me. Try youtubing Lady Gaga acoustic. She’s done acoustic covers of most of her songs. They are awesome. Also, check this out.

    The Lady Is A Tramp

If you like You and I, you would probably like Speechless and The Edge of Glory. Check them out :)

  9.

I didn’t know Speechless was here, either.

I can’t believe I’m actually listening to The GaGa.

    ...

    I’m so ashamed.

(I can’t get to youtube here, but I’ll try and remember to look stuff up when I go to school).

Edge of Glory is also awesome.

  10.

I really like ‘The Lady is a Tramp’. If you watch the video, you can tell how much fun she’s having. It’s kind of cute, actually.

apparently she can sing when she’s not auto-tuning the hell out of her voice.

Oh, definitely. There are recordings of her out there when she was in college, before she was famous. I never heard much auto-tune in her music because she has such a weird voice, but maybe I’m just missing it.

And don’t be ashamed. My music of choice is heavy metal and I still think Gaga’s awesome. (Although interestingly enough, Gaga herself is a fan of acts like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, and the Alice Cooper influence is obvious.)

  11.

^I still think Poker Face is her best song.

Not just because it put her on the map, not just because back then she had no competion from folks like Kesha or Jessie J (who I personally like, actually – she’s cute and she has a great voice), but because it’s just that good.

    It’s poisonously catchy.
Its lyrics are easily heard in some places, but kind of “blurred” in others – ensuring that you have to google them before you can sing along, and thereby seperating the true fans from the haters.
It utilises what I call the “hard beat”: a bass beat that almost takes over the song itself, burning its way into your brain and pretty much changing the whole atmosphere of the surrounding area. Other songs that use this are Bad Romance, Blow (Kesha), Sweat (Snoop Dogg) and Sexyback (Justin Timberlake).

  12.

Actually, I don’t like Pokerface all that much. It’s just…eh, for me.

  13.

    Double post FTW

Although interestingly enough, Gaga herself is a fan of acts like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, and the Alice Cooper influence is obvious

    She’s also a pegasister.
    This amuses me.

@SWQ – no worries. :) The world would be very boring if we all liked the same stuff.

  14.

Maybe it’s just cuz I tend to associate her with annoying teenage girls who are trying to be cool (because I’ve known too many of those, and they ALL like GaGa’s music).

My inner hispter is dying, haha.

  15.

My inner hispter is dying, haha.

    As is my pretentious metalhead.

New Favorite Song: I’m Not Jesus by Apocalyptica and Corey Taylor

  16.

So I admitted to my best friend that I kinda like GaGa. She was like: “You know I’m going to mock you forever, right?”

Ah, what are friends for? :p But hell, if I can be won over, I can surely win her over. Right?

  17.

    Right?

    RIGHT!

My friends were excited because they knew who Gaga was, (usually they haven’t even heard of the bands I listen to). :(

    Agreed.
Rewatch the music vid for Poker Face for proof.
I miss when she looked like that.

    Yeah, that is… interesting.
On the one hand, I’m a little creeped out (especially by the first pic, cause she looks like she’s about to eat them), but on the other: she’s one of us, man.

Edit: Never said she couldn’t, BTW. Just said that I wish she would.

What I don’t get is why there’s no Zecora toys yet. I want one. So badly.

The Mane 6 have some decent, relatively accurate toys out, at the very least. The ones with molded manes, anyway; I don’t really like the ones with “brushable” manes because they don’t look right. Although the Rarity one in the Lady Gaga picture looks fairly accurate.

...yeah, so I spend way too much time on ED and have read like all the posts about pony figurines. Shaddup. :P

  25.

    Yes, Zecora is awesome.

And now HP hardcores will remind me that Snape actually is sort of psychic.

Oh okay. But like I said, I want a fluffy stuffed version. Preferably Twilight Sparkle, but I’m not fussy.

Hey, no judging here. I’m the guy who foamed at the mouth when he searched five clothes stores and didn’t find a single FiM T-shirt. What, am I seriously gonna have to order a bunch of them one over the internet?

  29.

I love A Perfect Circle’s cover of Imagine more than the actual song, to be honest. It transposes the song to a minor key and the video shows how we’ve failed to live up to the potential that Lennon dreamed of. Also, Maynard James Keenan has a better voice than John Lennon.

    Bon Iver – Blood Bank

I love this song because, even though I first heard it only recently, it sounds incredibly familiar. And I don’t mean unoriginal. There are few songs that can get you feeling nostalgic when you’ve never even heard them before.
When it gets to this part:

You said, “Ain’t this just like the present
To be showing up like this”
As a moon waned to crescent
    We started to kiss
And I said I know it well
    That secret that we know
That we don’t know how to tell
I’m in love with your honour (I love this line)
I’m in love with your cheeks
What’s that noise up the stairs, babe?
    Is that Christmas morning creaks?

something changes in the song during that whole bit and I’m not quite sure what it is because it doesn’t bring up a particular memory, but it’s reminding me of something. It keeps tugging at the back of my mind. It’s so confusing and wonderful at the same time. It’s just a good song.

    Your time is runnin’ out
And you’re never gonna get it back
So make the most of every moment
