anyone else think that Chop Sucky Chooks is the Worst TV Show Ever? If not, what’s your vote/rant?
EDIT: LOL. It’s taken me a week to figure out it should be Chop Socky Chooks. Then again, the goof was more accurate.
Congrats!
Anything with a persistent, constant laugh track…
Also anything on MTV.
Star Trek: Enterprise. Not because it’s such a bad show on its own (it is, but there are worse ones), but because it was supposed to continue the legacy of one of the greatest shows ever made.
Enterprise killed me inside. But not as much as Hercules In Space Andromeda did.
Dan I trust you’ve read all of these already?
A good TV show is an oxymoron 89% of the time 100% of the time.
Aaaaand now! It’s Pimp My Twilight!
How much bling can you fit on Edward? Remember, he’s super reinforced, so he’ll hold a lot!
How many upgrades can you give Bella? She’s version 0.01 actress-style, so she’s got a way to go!
What’s the best style for Charlie’s moustache? Handlebar, French-waxed, walrus, or just as is? More points for the more flowers used!
@Nate Winchester
>Dan I trust you’ve read all of these already?
No, actually. I love the Agony Booth, but for Star Trek I’m more partial to SF Debris.
Grievious!!! DX
Because remember kids: Accents are genetic. x|
What happened to the Droids? In Phantom Menace they were pretty bad shots, but in a large group they could hold their own. Then it all started rolling down hill from there :(
Oh, I completely forgot about Boobah. I don’t loathe it with quite the intense hatred that I have against Enterprise, but it’s absolutely hideous (think Teletubbies, but even dumber and trippier).
Teletubbies. What on earth did they think they were doing?
Ugh, Teletubbies. I sit down with my nephew to spend some time with him, and I see four abominations cavorting around with the vengefull gaze of an infant god giggling at their vain attempts to appease its wrath.
The horror… the horror…
D:
I used to have to baby sit my siblings a lot, so I ended up watching a lot of children’s TV shows. Maybe it was just me, but the only one that seemed to have any merit at all was Arthur.
Now I have that song stuck in my head :(
So I say HEY

That and older sesame street episodes. Man I remember some really trippy kid shows that used to be on PBS. No wonder Neil Gaiman exists.

Those were awesome Dan, thx for the link. (I watched all of his video reviews)
Lost
YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

(no I’m not really upset, I figured if we’re going to have a flame war, have it over something silly like a TV show)
It is about to wrap up and we’ve actually been getting answers this last season.
(many bothans died, to bring us those answers)
So, what was the explanation for the polar bear, owl, monster etc. in the end?
Ugh, Teletubbies. I sit down with my nephew to spend some time with him,
Teletubbies are alright, heh, I remember when they first came out everyone was all WHOA. THIS IS AMAZING.
I prefer In The Night Garden now. The music is so pretty. And Makka Pakka is kinda sweet. OH, and Pocoyo, that show is just win.
So, what was the explanation for the polar bear, owl, monster etc. in the end?
IDK about the smoke monster thing, but the polar bear was an experiment.
Well, the level of complexity achieved by Lost has caused anxiety or steadfast loyalty in its viewers.
Or, as in my own case, both :-) I’m really looking forward to the last season next year.
Me too.
IDK about the smoke monster thing, but the polar bear was an experiment.
Brought to the island by the Dharma initiative.
The smoke monster we’re still figuring out the details of but it seems to be related to ancient Egypt.
What IS this show?
Complex, confusing, and no longer shown in UK.
Oh. Well, whatever, then.
Lost, I think. I’ve never seen it, but it has something to do with an airplane crash on an island and a time warp or something weird like that. But I got to see them filming it in Hawaii! It was on Oahuon a cliff or something, iirc. Unfortunately they closed down early because of rain, but I still got to see part of it.
I love Mythbusters. Anyone here like Top Gear? Britain, that is, not Aussie. Aussie Top Gear was just a huge letdown.
My science teacher was on Mythbusters once…
That is really cool.
I sit down with my nephew to spend some time with him, and I see four abominations cavorting around with the vengefull gaze of an infant god giggling at their vain attempts to appease its wrath.
You just made my day.
Not as bad as a live action adaptation would have been.
Dragonball Z Abridged, followed by Berserk Abridged, are my favorites.
Avatar Abridged is pretty funny too, but he hasn’t updated in a while :(
Lol, I take it nobody’s heard of Top Gear then? I’m starting a thread for Top Gear.
Don’t tell me none of you have seen the ORIGINAL that started the whole trend.
Yu Gi Oh Abridged
Now I will punish you all by beating you in a children’s card game!
Attention Duelists: My Hair is assaulting a small child!
Screw the rules, I have money!
Screw the money, I have rules!
...
...Wait, let me try that again.
Wait a sec…
Overlord DAN.
DAN green.
You are the Yu Gi Oh abridged guy! When’s the new episode?
Sir, I wish. Well, no, no I don’t wish, because I’ve read the Youtube comments, and people will never leave him alone. From the first episode till the end of time. Forever. and I will join them
:D
Actually, Dan Green, rather than being the Abridged guy, is Yami Yugi’s voice actor. He also does Knuckles and Brock, among many others.
And he’s British, like Bakura.
I thought Bakura was Russian.
Also, did anyone else do the “Friendship Shot Count”? I substituted alcohol with Red Bull, and shortly thereafter, wished I hadn’t.
Oh, BOLLOCKS! (said in a whiny, high-pitched British accent)
Now, does that sound Russian to you?
No, there is an episode when he is introduced to the class and a kid yells, “Go back to Russia!”
Edit: I know he’s British people, that wasn’t lost on me. It was just to see how many people would go “Oh, I remember that episode.” Apparently, none do.
Obviously the kid was an idiot who would have said the same thing to someone with a French accent and a beret. Also, “Just because I’m British doesn’t mean I’m gay!”
That enough for you?
Bakura was most definitely British. :P
CSI whenever it brings out computer forensics. “I’ll write a Visual Basic GUI to track his IP.”
Which was the crime drama in which one plot revolved around a cyber-criminal’s cunning plan to steal people’s megabytes?
Blargh, I used to like CSI: Miami, but now it makes me cringe. I’d only watch it now for Delko-pretty.
They’re doing a spin-off of NCIS. I have no idea what it is about, but I dismiss most spin-offs once I hear of their existence.
TV shows are so unoriginal now a days. Mental is a House rip-off, Glee is a High School Musical rip-off, crime shows are all the same, etc. Gawd.
Oh God, High School Musical… I think that should get nominated for worst movie ever…
Everything on children’s TV these days.
Nothing compares to the awesomeness of the 90s.
Zomgz, Moldorm, I agree. What happened to Hey Arnold and Rugrats?! Even Rocko’s Modern Life was waaaaay better than the trash on kid’s TV nowadays. The age of the magnificent cartoon ended with Avatar The Last Airbender. It’s really no wonder so many Americans (esp. teens and kids) are creepily obsessed with Japanese anime… they’re not getting anything better from home.
Argh, Boohbah! Boohbah is just a dumbed-down version of Teletubbies – at least the Teletubbies can produce something resembling the speech pattern of a normal human being. PBS is slowly reducing the maximum age of viewers. Once, in the good old days, you could be a middle-schooler and get away with watching Liberty’s Kid’s and Arthur. Now we’re stuck with SuperWHY! claws out eyeballs
MythQuest was possibly the coolest show I’d ever seen as a kid, and now it’s not on PBS anymore. WAH!!
I really really miss the days when kids would watch Arthur. That was a mature show that at least demonstrated what good behavior looked like, and gave kids some positive role models. It was well written and educational. These days shows like that don’t seem to exist.
I was obsessed with TMNT, Spiderman and X-Men animated, Power Rangers, Street Sharks and Dragon Flyz.
And now they’ve all been corrupted beyond recognition or faded into obscurity!
This is why I love nostalgia so much.
Looney Tunes! Awww, I love those cartoons! Cartoons these days are retarded. looks pointedly at Spongebob, the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. etc.
MythQuest was possibly the coolest show I’d ever seen as a kid, and now it’s not on PBS anymore. WAH!!
I remember MythQuest! I last saw it when I was in early elementary school, and what made me mad was that the last episode I ever watched, it was part of a 2-part episode and ended with the brother as King Tut choking to death. I never got to see if he lived! }:(
Cartoons these days are retarded. looks pointedly at Spongebob, the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. etc.
Amen to that. Has anyone seen “The Goode Family”? Because the animation reminds me of Beevis and Butthead, and from the previews I’ve watched it seems to cater to the same intelligence level.
@CGilga

Er, NCIS is a spin-off itself. From JAG.
@RVL
And Redwall! I remember waking up early on week-ends just to watch it…
Ew. I’m afraid I shunned the Redwall series. It hurt me that they deviated from the books for no good reason. :( Oh, and Animorphs. Major TV suckage.
There was a Redwall animation?! And it was shown on TV?!!
NCIS is? I knew they were similar, but I had no idea they had the same creators. I thought they just had the navy in common.
Yup. It was introduced in a similar way to the CSIs. Couple of episodes crossover with the original show and then BAM! their own series.
I liked The Magic School Bus myself.
Yeah… I used to have a crush on Phoebe.
The Magic School Bus was awesome. I liked it when they shrunk and went into the HUMAN BODY!
Ah, old PBS. Did anyone used to watch Ghostwriter?
@ Jeni: I’ve been trying to find that episode ever since!
And Arthur was my favourite show till about year 8. I’d still watch it if it came on.
I really hate all those half-cartoon, half-CG shows. They just look like the animator hasn’t bothered. And now they’re a dime a dozen.
Jibber Jabber sucks, too. Such annoying little kids.
