    Aaarrrgh!

Martin’s teases and riddles about cast members are killing me.. I’m melting…

Ser Seven is another terrific award winning actor. He will be going back to a place he’s been before. This is a guy who once went to the wars with our Jaime, though it’s a good thing that Jaime wasn’t a kingslayer then, or all history might have been changed. And there are mountains in Westeros that he might know, though his character has never seen ‘em.

Yeah, I just read that. The anticipation is killing me! Let’s see… so he’s worked in Ireland before, and has won awards. Huh.

Oooh! I saw this on the ASOIAF Board:

I also support Iain Glen as Ser Jorah Mormont:

    - Award Winning – Silver Berlin Bear – Will be going back to a place he’s been before – morocco, both filming location of Jorah and “Kingdom of Heaven” – Once went to the wars with our Jaime – “Kingdom of Heaven” – Important King involved – he was “Richard Coeur de Lion” in “Kingdom of Heaven” – Mountains he might know – played in movie “Mountains of the Moon” – Possible Jaimes: Kevin McKidd, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

I proposed Nikolaj Coster-Waldau before, but now he seems an even better fit.

  2.

Ser Seven is probably either Rhaegar or Barristan the Bold.

  3.

Why’s that? Neither of those two are in the pilot.

  4.

    A possible Samwell?

    EDIT: Also, a possible Robb.

Michael Cera does mainly movies.. he might be good as Samwell but I don’t see him doing it.

  5.

...That kid is neither fat nor ugly. I’d peg him more as Bran or Robb Stark, although he’s probably too old for the former.

As for why Ser Seven might be Rhaegar or Barristan, I have no idea who’s in the pilot, but those are both Sers, both fought alongside Jaime before he was Kingslayer, and considering Rhaegar died and Barristan was captured by Robert well before King’s Landing was sacked by the Lannisters and Jaime slew Aerys…

I mean, there are other possibilities. Could be Stannis Baratheon, Arthur Dayne, Tywin Lannister from a certain point of view…

But Rhaegar seems like the most likely prospect to me for the character. If you think this series is not going to be flashback-heavy, you’ve got another thing coming, and Rhaegar is probably the most important character in the entire series.

Stannis will be important, but he’s barely there in the first book.

  6.

True. In fact, he isn’t there at all. He’s mentioned several times, but the character isn’t even part of a flashback sequence in Book One.

More new roles for the pilot have been announced here. The actress for Sansa is not the same Sophie Turner from Doctor Who, the article got that wrong.

Sansa looks suspiciously like Luna Lovegood…is she Evanna Lynch?

No, her name is Sophie Turner. Luna / Evanna has a real dreamy look.. even if she’s smiling.

I agree, Arya looks perfect for the character.

  10.

Oh. I thought she had the dreaminess, but yeah. Isn’t Sansa a redhead? That’s how I always saw her.

Red-Headed Whore has a great line). Only one part has been filled since the Secret Seven were announced, but I expect to hear about more castings Real Soon Now.

No, just kidding. Sorry. I have my fangirl moments as well. But isnt he supposed to be this badass knight? Those were manly, right? I mean, wielding a several pounds – heavy sword is not that much fun for your muscles. Or will the actor become less manly for the part?

So… Continuing from Breeze’s intro thread, Arya is meh for me. I like Sandor, Jamie, Tyrion and Sansa better.

  22.

I too am “meh” about Arya. It’s really unlikely that she survived this long, and she’s really rude.

Well, so are a lot of the other characters. And when you think about what she’s been through…

Sorry, this post was copied from Breeze’s thread. Sansa is meh for me. I can’t see that she’s very… I dunno, unique? Her reactions don’t surprise me at all. Predictable, I guess, is the word I’m looking for.
