  1.

I just read about this book, and I read the first chapter at school, where someone was reading it.

I know that fanfiction is considered barely legal, and it is illegal to attempt to make money off of it. But this… why??

  2.

NO! NONONONONONONONONONO!! They can’t do this to a classic!

  3.

P+P is considered public domain, so I think that’s why they could sell P+P+Z.

I kind of want to read it though…

  4.

Um, actually they can. It’s a hilarious book. I read the first chapter or so at the bookstore, then put it down to browse for other possible purchases. When I came back to settle with P&P&Z ten minutes later, someone had already bought it. :(

It’s a lot more interesting than Pride & Prejudice.

  5.

    Ha ha ha ha ha!
Apparently they are making a movie.

  6.

    Yea, I heard. That’s something I’d see!

  7.

A movie????!? This I have to see! I’ve been trying to track down the book for a couple of months now.

Anyway, to get back to the thread topic, I think this is a hilarious idea. P&P is one of my favourite books, and since I always love a bit of a twist …

It is undeniably fanfiction, but I think a better term for this is parody (and therefore it is legal). Also, as it got to be a book, I would venture to say (even with things like Twilight and Maradonia etc floating around) that it would have a higher quality of writing, a better, non-loose-ended plot, and so on.

And it’s got to be better than the serious P&P-fanfiction-books!

I have no problem with it.

My sister’s almost finished reading it. From what I can gather, it pretty much runs on Rule of Cool. I’m seriously tempted…

  8.

I saw it in a store and wanted to buy it, but then didn’t.

  9.

    Yoooooooooou idioti!

  10.

    You spelled idiot wrong.

  11.

    It’s the Italian way! *

*No offense to Italians meant. I’m one, too.

  12.
I heard it was fantastically hilarious. Therefore I MUST READ!
  13.
You know...now I actually have a reason to read the damn thing.
Because Everything Is Better With Zombies.
  14.

    I’m like one zillionth Italian.

Actually, it’s idiota in Italian. I just spelt it wrong, heh heh.

Pride and Prejudice + Zombies may be the most random crossover I’ve ever heard of.

  15.

Apparently he almost went with War and Peace and Werewolves.

How about To Kill a Mockingbird with dinosaurs?

Actually, when we were reading Shakespeare’s Tempest in high school, I did daydream a lot about adding dinosaurs to it.

  17.

Once, my brother was playing LotR with his action figures, and he added dinosaurs to that.

  18.

I think I’d go with Anna Karenina and Vampires. That way Dolly could get revenge on Oblonsky.

  19.

    @BrandonP

Or How to Kill A Mockingbird.

(I would have linked to the original page, but it’s GONE FOREVER.)
