Finale Thoughts:
My thoughts
Anyway, I really need to finish the original series. It probably wasn’t a great idea to watch Korra and read about it on the Internet, but I don’t think I got a lot of things spoiled. (It helped that I don’t even know a lot of the characters people are referring to. Any mention of Azula goes right over my head.)
This made me giggle. In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have.
Well, I’m almost done with season 2. Four days.
All done with it all. Under a week from start to finish.
Whoops. I hope I didn’t spoil anything for you, Queen. >.> I’ll be a bit more careful when using hidden text.
No worries, I’ve already seen pretty much everything, just out of order.
Woooo I found a place to watch Korra and I watched the third and fourth episodes.
EDIT: Episode five: BRB, stuffing knives into my mouth. (Poor Bolin!) Episode six was pretty much pure awesome, though I thought
Episodes seven and eight: Ooooh! This is getting good!
Okay, finished the season!
I finally finished TLA! I’m glad I got to do it before leaving for Berkeley.
As is mentioned in the comments, though, be prepared to be treated like a preteen girl in the video.
I’m sorry, can’t talk about the first episode, want a stuffed Appa too much.
That was a pretty good episode. I’m glad they’ll be leaving republic city for the nonce. I was ready to see the ancient-Chinese-themed world again.
I enjoyed it. It was nice to see how the rest of the world has changed since the original series, and what the new cast has been up to since the end of last season (Mako as a cop? Awesome), as well as giving characters outside the main cast something to do (Jinora, Tenzin’s eldest daughter; Korra’s parents; Tenzin’s siblings).
And now the more spoilery stuff.
Halfwayish through the first new episode, and lol Aubrey Plaza.
e: finished both, thoughts below
Aubrey Plaza doing her Aubrey Plaza thing was still best part.
@sansa and sanguine – we are apparently the only people who don’t hate Mako with all of our hearts. And I really don’t understand why. Did he set fire to an orphanage in an episode I missed or something?
I don’t hate Mako. But I think a lot of the hate comes from the fact that he goes from dating Asami to dating Korra without seeming to bat an eye, and there’s no real fallout from that. And I think a lot of the fans that hate Mako probably ship Korra/Bolin.
Mako’s just really boring, and the show last season seemed unreasonably enamored with him despite his boringness. This season all he’s done is kinda grumble about being with Korra(which is annoying) and pointed out that Korra is being needlessly hostile toward her previous authority figures(which is pretty cool). I’d call his presence a wash right now instead of a net negative.
I was starting to get a little bored with the new season, but the last episode started pulling me back into it. I hope it continues in that direction.
So, I gotta be real. The business man is glaringly evil. I don’t know how to put spoilers or I’d say more about my theory
You have to have “Textile” selected underneath the comment field, and then click the “insert hidden text” button.
Also, I don’t think “glaringly” is what you mean. If it was, then you wouldn’t have to explain it – it would be obvious.
That was easily the best episode this season. I found myself actively liking Mako during it.
Makko sorta rules. Bolin is getting frustrating to me. He’s being so….totally exactly how people get when famous.
Okay, just saw the latest episode.
My tears.
Caught up on Friday’s double dose of Korra. And now the ranting.
Night of a Thousand Stars
Harmonic Convergence
So yeah, I liked it. Can’t wait for the finale.
The final two episodes of the season were available for streaming on Nick.com as of Saturday, dunno if that was on purpose or by accident but I watched them.
It was about what I expected of Korra. Some really great moments, and some really dumb moments, and some moments that were both.
I watched the final episodes on Saturday too. Pretty interesting. Kind of surprised that there will be another two seasons, I’m curious what will really amount to this level of epic now.
Somehow I forgot that this video exists. Go watch it and relive the glory. Or experience for the first time, if you’ve never seen it before. So graceful.
I like season 3 so far. Nice to see the White Lotus again.
All caught up on season 3. (Side note: finding a way to stream the episodes was a pain. Why aren’t they on the show’s site? Every other episode is.)
My thoughts so far:
Thoughts on the finale?
I appreciate this improved version of the ending.
Loved the finale; great action, good development.
