I have mixed feelings about this song.

Currently listening to Can’t Hold us by Macklemore, who is currently my favourite artist on the radio

I swear I’m not going crazy, but I cannot find a song I’m trying to find on Youtube that I know I found easily before.

So a couple years back, I saw the Spider-man musical in New York. It’s got all original music, and there is a very specific theme that’s the Spider-man-being-all-heroic theme. I know I listened to it again on Youtube after I got home, because I rather liked it (one of the few parts of the musical I unequivocally enjoyed).

And now I cannot find it anywhere. I don’t remember the name, but every time I try to search for it, I just keep finding “Rise Above”, which although quite nice, is definitely not what I’m looking for! I checked the track listings of the soundtrack on iTunes, nothing seems to match. I found my playbill, for crying out loud, and I still can’t figure out what the song is! It might be called “Turn off the Dark”, which is the musical’s title, but I have tried everything I can think of with a sleep-deprived 1 AM brain, and I cannot find it at all. Alternately, it might be called “Spider-man!”, but that’s even harder to look for.

I give up. I swear it exists, though. I am definitely not crazy.

I’ve been listening to ‘This Love’ when I feel particularly frustrated with studying. It’s really therapeutic, actually.

@IK – my sister and I and a friend were going to New York City. My sister and I were like, so let’s see a show on Broadway, because we did the last time we were there. I didn’t want to bring it up, but my sister gives me this sidelong look and goes… so you hear about that Spider-man musical?

Truth be told, all three of us were openly going hoping to see an accident. :P There was not on that night, but I will tell you this—that musical was loads of fun. The first half was boring, it was somewhat nonsensical, it was obviously multiple scripts mushed together, it was undeniably a trainwreck… but an interesting trainwreck, not the tragic kind.

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but my top three Massive Attack albums are Heligoland > Blue Lines > Mezzanine. What do you think, Puppet?

I dunno. I would just look up some of their songs on YouTube and see if you like them. Teardrop, Splitting the Atom, Unfinished Sympathy and Paradise Circus are the ones that come to mind.

On another note, I’m listening to Toxic by Britney Spears (I’m a sucker for well produced songs/albums). Kind of crazy to think that In the Zone was released 10 years ago now. 2003 still doesn’t seem like that long ago.

I’m sorry, that sucks. My dad is similar (except he doesn’t oppose metal on religious grounds, more that he doesn’t consider it ‘real music’) but he’s never bothered to prevent us from going to a concert- mostly because my mom likes to come with us. :D

Ah, I had just looked into Ms Mr’s songs after seeing a couple on Tumblr. That’s a pretty cool remix.

Meanwhile, I’ve been listening to the album Ripely Pine by Lady Lamb the Beekeeper (stage name of Aly Spaltro). Some of the more straight-up folk songs fall flat, in my opinion, but when she gets more rock-inspiration or goes off in her own direction, it’s incredible. I really recommend listening to Crane Your Neck, at least.
