Influencing younger siblings is fun. :) My brother is the only kid in his class who likes German power metal, and if my older sister hadn’t influenced me, I shudder to think what my tastes would be like.

It is! I got my brother into a handful of musicals. :D

Love Reign O’er Me always gives me chills.

I’m on a huge Rod Stewart kick right now. I normally don’t like that kind of voice, but there’s a certain . . . sincerity, I guess, that gets me singing along.

That line needs one less “ever” in it and it would work for me. She just tries to stuff too many evers in there. Yes, I think of this every time I hear the song.

Just listened to The Dark Side of the Moon (vinyl, of course) for the very first time. I had my noise cancelling headphones on and I was lying down with my eyes closed, letting the music sink in and engulf me. It was beautiful. I felt so peaceful, so satisfied and so content as I was listening, as if nothing really mattered. At one point I even teared up a little bit.

    Absolutely gorgeous album.

It is rather long and depressing and I don’t listen to it very often because of that. And the film was a total mindscrew

  7.

The Wall is literally the only rock album my dad will listen to. I’m not denying that if he’s going to pick one album, he’s chosen well, but he doesn’t even like any other Pink Floyd. I personally am more attached to Dark Side of the Moon, just because my family would always go to those astronomy light shows in the science museum when I was a kid, and it was the soundtrack.

But actually depending on who I’m talking to I’ll say either Love reign O’er Me or Naked Eye is my fav Who song (if I’m talking to a layman, I say the former, if I’m talking to a Who fan I say the latter).

Sea and Sand has made me tear up before.

The line “I’m wet and I’m cold, but thank God I ain’t old” makes me choke up sometimes for some reason. (especially when seeing it live) Go to the Mirror from Tommy has the same effect.

But actually depending on who I’m talking to I’ll say either Love reign O’er Me or Naked Eye is my fav Who song (if I’m talking to a layman, I say the former, if I’m talking to a Who fan I say the latter).

Yeah, if I were talking to a “Troo FANZ” type person who would look down on me for liking one of their most popular songs, I might go for The Dirty Jobs (just like when discussing Queen with the “Troo FAnz” I don’t mention Bohemian Rhapsody and go for The Prophet’s Song instead.)

Oh yeah. I’m still disappointed it didn’t win Best Picture.

  36.

    Long, Long Time, Billy Joel

  37.

Halestorm won the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance at the Grammys! That’s really the only category I care about. They beat out some bands that I like (like IRON MAIDEN) but honestly, I think they deserve it. I thought they were just a generic hard rock band years ago until I saw them live and I was blown away. They’re a blast on stage, even if they’re ‘mainstream’ and not the most musically original.

But I’m kind of disappointed by all the negative spam they’re getting on their videos now by Iron Maiden and Anthrax fanboys- and especially the amount of criticism that focuses around the female vocalist. Anyone who can pull off Skid Row and Guns ‘n’ Roses as well as Lzzy Hale should be considered a hard rock badass, regardless of their gender.
