    I guess I’ll add to Spanman’s list:

Solo artists: BoA, IU, JUNIEL, Taeyang, Ailee, Baek A Yeon & G-Dragon

Babby’s first kpop (SNSD): Gee, Hoot & Oh!

Other groups: T-ara, Miss A, SHINee & 2PM (I don’t like them as much, but you could also check out 4Minute, Sistar and Beast, too.)

More BIGBANG: Fantastic Baby, How Gee & Haru Haru

More 2NE1: Can’t Nobody, Lonely & Hate You

I feel like for the amount of Korean Starcraft I watch, I should know more kpop bands, but I never really cared for it. Gangnam Style is pretty fun though. Girl’s Generation and SNSD comes up on every now and then.

I’m starting to add more and more indie Korean artists to my music library, and Mad Soul Child, an electric-house trio, is my latest discovery. They have a really nice, unique and refreshing musical style and I really like their vocalist, Jinsil. It’s a shame they’ve only released one album so far.

Wow me too. That album changed me, big time. When I was 16 Quadrophenia was everything to me.

It definitely is one of those life-changing albums. I listen to it a lot at work, when I have to stare at a computer screen and shuffle papers for six hours straight. It makes the job a bit less soul-sucking. Seeing it live was even more amazing. I had shitty seats because I’m poor but it was amazing none-the-less and I sang along to everything. I freaked out when they had The Ox’s bass solo during 5:15 and freaked out even more when they had Moon’s performance of Bell Boy (Keith Moon is probably one of my favourite people ever.) It was supposed to be my little brother’s Christmas present (I am the greatest older sister in the world) but it was just as much for me.

But my other favourite Who album would have to be The Who Sell Out.

It’s hard for me to express how much I really related to that album. But I blew a whole lot of money seeing them play it because to me it’s the best thing ever made by humans.

I was in row 12 on Pete’s side at the second show in Chicago. I’ve never been that close before in an arena, it was crazy.

I was with a friend from Texas who went all the way to Chicago to see them (they aren’t playing in Texas and the closest they’re going is Arizona in February) because he feels the same way about the album and the band as I do (I make sure all my friends understand the majesty of Quadrophenia).

I’m sort of surprised at the turnout at these shows because Quadrophenia is a difficult album, and they just play it all the way through with no breaks. But both of the Chicago concerts were sold out. I don’t know. I feel like it was tailor made for the 16 year old me but I know people that had trouble getting into it.

  21.

I saw it at the TD Garden in Boston and the place was HUGE and completely sold out. I was way up high in the balcony with my little brother, and we were basically the only sober ones in our row. It was just….god, I can’t even really explain it but that concert was probably the high point of this year. But there’s something about the album overall that I just have this deep emotional connection with. Like that somehow it understands me far too well. Or maybe that should be reversed. And now I’m just babbling but you have no idea how excited I am right now because I’ve never met anyone else who liked Quadrophenia this much.

Also Daltrey looks way too good for a man in his late 60’s

Inspector Karamazova, what did you think of the new song in Les Mis? Ordinarily it would be sacrilege to consider writing a new song for such a beloved musical, but Suddenly feels like it should have been part of the original from the start, doesn’t it? I’ll admit I kinda fell in love with that song, esp[ecially Hugh Jackman singing it. Colm Wilkinson would have made it angelic.

  28.

Inspector Karamazova, what did you think of the new song in Les Mis?

I really liked it and I think it filled a void in Valjean’s character. There’s a wonderful passage in the book about how he’s never really experienced love of that kind before, and I think the song captured that very well. However because of the placement, we lose that great transition from the Thenardier Waltz into Look Down, and that was sad.

I could TOTALLY hear Colm singing it and that would be amazing (HE STILL COULDA PLAYED VALJEAN DAMMIT. :P He was a wonderful Bishop though).
