Does Les Miserable involve a gardener’s daughter and some nuns? I saw something called Les Miserable on TV the other day and I just wondered whether it’s the same Les Miserable or not. It certainly didn’t sound musical.

Well, the main character does work as a guardener at a convent for a while, and he does have an adopted daughter. And the musical is only one adaptation of a novel published in 1862.

I hate it when I hear an absolutely incredible song, I don’t know, in the mall or something, and I can’t get a hold of it so that I can have it on infinite replay until I’m sick of it. And I can’t even google the lyrics or anything because I didn’t remember enough of the words and even if I recall the chorus, it will just happen to have the most common words in it so that a search brings up lyrics to like a million different songs and then I’ll never hear that song ever again and all I can remember was that it was glorious.

    >:(

    Midnight Hands by Rise Against.

Yeah, the new album sucked, for the most part, but this song is one of their heaviest intros ever, and that Drop C# riff is awesome on a platter. Learned to play it and felt like a boss.

The only part that gets stuck in my head is the pretty good part, aka the part without Flo Rida.

    the new album sucked

There was a new album? This just shows how closely I follow Rise Against. I have their Appeal to Reason album, and that’s about it.

2011 saw Endgame. For my money, it was too fragmented, over-the-top and politically oriented to succeed. There were some good bits of songwriting here and there and Tim McIlrath’s voice is still awesome, but their songwriting was like oil spill, gay rights, America sucks, big companies are evil, jumping from topic to topic incoherently. Their social and personal songs have always been better than the political ones.

Appeal to Reason was decent, but Siren Song of the Counter Culture was their best album.
