  21.

Yayz, Nightwish! Although I find that Oceanborn is far and away their best album (I haven’t listened to their newest yet, though, other than The Poet and the Pendulum and a few other songs. I wasn’t all that impressed, except for the Poet and the Pendulum)

Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park.
Meh, I don’t understand how people could place this song in Twilight. Then again, I don’t understand how the book could’ve been written… ;P

I listened to The Carpenter by Nightwish a dozen times trying to work out the lyrics. Then I gave up and looked them up online, and it confirmed my suspicions as to what the song is about.

  42.

    The Hug, by Knuffy

  43.

    @ Swenson: a carpenter?

@SWQ – Jesus Christ. At least if you interpret the references to “salvation” and “crucifixion” the same way I did…

  45.

@Swenson: riiiiiight, because Jesus was a carpenter. I’ve never actually looked at the lyrics, so I made an educated guess.

  46.

The symbolism is pretty heavy-handed if you actually read them.

  47.

I’ve only heard the song once and didn’t think it was all that great. I can’t even hear Tuomas on the part where he’s supposed to sing. I’m glad they got Marco for male vocals later.

    Now: Mother Earth- Within Temptation

Lots of Cake. They’re very easy to cheer up to. ^^ I just realised that I listen to my music extremely loud when I’m in the car alone. I wouldn’t have thought so except some people give me strange looks at red lights. XP

  49.

Inpromtu by Brahms. It’s also the song I’m playing in piano. SO PRETTY... :D

  50.

Ich Gehör Nur Mir from the musical Elisabeth. I blame my dad for sticking it on my iPod and my German club for forcing me to look for a German musical solo. Now I can’t stop going on about Uwe Kröger and his sexiness…

  51.

^^ My friend has become obsessed with that musical. Obsessed.

    Illusive Consensus- Epica.

  52.

It has an awesome combination of creepy dungeon music, rock music, Gorgeous Period Dresses, Ho Yay, and death in the form of this guy:

Oh, I forgot to blame Steph for making me look up Elisabeth on Wikipedia because of her post on the Tried and Failed thread. Having now heard the musical and seen some of it on Youtube, I can see how it’s sort of like Twilight (child-like girl abandons loving normal guy to have an affair with a sexy blonde man who literally has the kiss of death – except in this case, she is the reluctant one and he backs out of it last minute), but I think it’s a bit more like The Phantom of the Opera if Christine went with the Phantom at the end.

  53.

    Credence- Opeth.

Mellow Opeth is THE BEST music to study to, period.

  54.

I usually study to The Four Seasons. It’s ironic, because usually when I’m studying my mind isn’t quite as calm as the music, so it’s my de-stresser, I suppose. ;)

    Revolution by the Beatles

  55.

I’m listening to “Exploration” off of the Coraline soundtrack, which is lovely.

  56.

I have discovered Regina Spektor. She is amazing.

  57.

Worst Pies in London from Sweeney Todd

  58.

I’m listening to ‘Handlesbars’ by Flobots. I heard it a while ago, by recommendation, and it was stuck in my head today. I don’t know what to think of it.

  59.

Making Christmas, Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack. Danny Elfman kicks ass.

  60.

SmartAlienQT: I just want you to know that your little post combined with the picture was enough to coerce me into googling “Elisabeth” and I feel like my entire purpose for being online five minutes ago has now been eclipsed and destroyed. Any susequent interest, fascination or obsession I suffer because of this musical I blame on you.

    Just so you know.

I love the main theme of Howl’s Moving Castle, so, so much. <3

    So purty:

  61.

@ Karamazov: Sally’s Song is my favorite. I’m learning to play Amy Lee’s version on the piano, but as with anything written for piano by Amy Lee, it’s rather complicated, fingering-wise.

  63.

I’ve discovered the Unextraordinary Gentlemen, and while I don’t often listen to this sort of music, I like their style.

  64.

I Don’t Care by Fall Out Boy
I have no idea why I like this song…

  65.

I have When I’m 64 by the Beatles stuck in my head.

In a couple weeks, I’m planning on singing at an old people’s home…would it be offensive to sing this song? Because I like it and I think it’s cute.

  66.

Meh, I wouldn’t consider it offensive. But then again, I’m not old. ;)
    This Boy by Franz Ferdinand

  67.

    The Dance of Eternity-Dream Theater

  68.

Pride (in the Name of Love) by U2

  69.

    The Divine Conspiracy- Epica

  70.

Thnks fr th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy
That spelling irks me to no end…

  71.

That’s the actual spelling? Oh god…

  72.

Yeah… And the music video has monkeys, which is bizarre.

  73.

It also irks me. I may not text, but I know that isn’t how someone would write it that way.

Unless they weren’t trying to achieve that effect.

Hurrah! It is, isn’t it? I’m thinking about getting my mum her album for Christmas.

So I can totally rip it.

  75.

As long as she enjoys it, then it’s all right. ;)

I found this one thread that listed songs people liked—just look—and I’m now listening to New Order, “Dreams Never End.”

  76.
