  1.

    Definitely.

    It looks very nicely animated.

Actually, the movie used animatronic suits for the characters.

  2.

Oh. I thought it was all 3D.

  3.

I really enjoyed WTWTA, but it’s hard for me to have an objective opinion because of the serious nostalgia goggles.

  4.

My, it seems that everyone is enjoying it (including people I know).

Apparently half the people I know thought Where the Wild Things Are was the “worst movie ever” for undisclosed reasons. Obviously these people never had a childhood. I’mma watch it this week. :D

  5.

Well, it doesn’t really have a plot and it’s incredibly melancholy, but I don’t see how people could get worked up about it given how obviously sincere it is. Then again, I’m a huge sucker for sincerity.

  7.

Time you could have spent watching Princess Bride.

I don’t like that movie very much, though it is leagues above Twilight. I am tempted to watch Princess Bride again just because I now know that Mandy Patinkin is Inigo Montoya or whatever his name is.

As for paying with my time, in my defense, I though it might be funny. Also, I really didn’t have anything to do, and I like to watch some things like that just so I can say to people who say “How do you know it’s bad if you’ve never seen it?” that I have seen it, and it was terrible. That’s why I read the book, and that’s why I watched Napolean Dynamite.

I watched part of AI: Artificial Intelligence today. I’ve seen it before. It’s so sad.

  8.

    Spirited Away was aMAZing.

  9.

    Napoleon Dynamite= stupidest movie ever.

  10.

    Napoleon Dynamite= stupidest movie ever.

That title goes to either Manos or Epic Movie.

  11.

Ok, stupidest movie ever that I’ve seen.

  12.

I couldn’t finish it. I watched around ten, twenty minutes and I forced myself to watch the bits I did watch. It was so unfunny.

  13.

I couldn’t finish it either! I didn’t find any of it funny, and I do have a sense of humor because I find Inigo and Fezzik hilarious (in the best way possible).

  14.

I thought it was funny when I was in middle school. Of course, I did have godawful taste during those years.

I thought it was pretty funny. However, it only stands watching about twice before it becomes rather painful.

  15.

I don’t like that movie very much

And here I thought you were a pretty cool guy. I am going to have to rethink my opinion on you in light of this egregious flaw.

@Napolean Dynamite haters: I agree with over ten hundred percent. I am amazed I didn’t strangle anybody back when that movie was popular. That movie is probably the catalyst for my undying hatred of the word “random” in anything outside an actual numerical context.

That said, it had a handful of moments that made me laugh, like that part where the vato types roll up and shake their heads at some guy, plus Diedrich Bader, but he’s effective in anything pretty much.

  16.

I’ve only seen part of it but I loved it. I think. I can’t remember now. I don’t remember hating it, so I probably loved it. It’s the sort of thing that appeals to me.

Napoleon Dynamite has some extremely funny jokes mixed in with very long stretches of lameness, trying too hard, and general un-funniness. I used to count how many Napoleon Dynamite shirts I’d see every day at school. Now I count Twilight merchandise.

I finished My Neighbor Totoro. I love that movie so much. 8D

    Moldorm:

    TO-to-ro, to-TOR-o…
    i love that song.

    SO DO I :D

  17.

I probably won’t mention that at school.

I did, although I did finish it. I was pacing back and forth across the room because I was so bored, but I forced myself to finish it. Afterwards, I asked people why they thought it was funny, and they couldn’t give me a single example of what they thought was funny. They’d just say, “The whole thing.” Rolls eyes

And here I thought you were a pretty cool guy. I am going to have to rethink my opinion on you in light of this egregious flaw.

I’m willing to give it another shot whenever it’s on TV again. I’ve seen it once, and that was at school. Movies are never as good when you watch them with a bunch of kids who won’t shut up on a projector that’s volume controls won’t go above a whisper. It may have skewed my perception of it a tad.
    /end defending self

  18.

Yeah, that sounds plausible. I loved the hell out of it as a kid, and I love it more now that I’m old enough to understand the humor. Also, Inigo’s big moment makes me cry manly tears at least 70% of the time.

  19.

Heck, even I don’t cry manly tears over that moment. Good on you.

I just finished Fight Club. That… is a very unusual movie. It’s amazing, of course, but really, really disturbing and completely bizarre.

  21.

I recently watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Meh, I enjoyed it, (mostly for the mind wiping aspect of it all ;P) but I didn’t like the fact So anyhow, I didn’t like the ‘love vs. science’ concept.

Then, I watched 12 Angry Men. It was slightly boring at times, but very very good. :D It’s rather old, so it’s in black and white. It’s about 12 jurors; 11 of them think a boy is guilty of committing patricide, the other juror thinks he’s innocent. ‘Tis very good indeed. :D

I watched Superman Returns for the first time over the weekend. Can’t really comment on the Superman side of things, as I’m not a huge Superman fanatic, but the movie itself wasn’t bad. Not on the level as TDK, of course, but still, not bad. Wasn’t nearly as fake and retarded as I expected.

I saw Watchmen on Friday night. I’m sure that it was a good movie, but I was bored throughout it and fell asleep a lot. (and kept waking up, and falling back asleep). My friend said that it was significant on many layers. But I’ll admit that I pretty much missed all of the significance of everything. I probably won’t watch it again, and if I do it will be during the day when I have plenty of caffeine.

Also I saw Selena with Jennifer Lopez. I thought it was a very good movie. And I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic which I had a fabulous time watching, it was very fun.

Remember, RVL, if you ever hear anybody claiming its true, remind them that we can’t possibly make it to 2012 because this year there are no more days after December 31st, and therefore the world will end.

  43.

We watched Mississippi Buring at school. It was completely unrelated to school, but it was pretty good. It was depressing because it’s based on a true story though.

  44.

So, I watched 2012. I hated it. Unrealistic and sappy, this movie had it all. Ew.

    WILL SMITH. 83

(I don’t care if the movie is inaccurate and over sentimentalised it has WILL SMITH).

  45.

Just finished the movie version of Troy.

(For all you Garrett Hedlund fans out there, he doesn’t look nearly as good without the emo haircut, at least in my opinion.)

Anyway, they bastardized the mythology somewhat, cut things out and all that, but it wasn’t that bad. In fact, my biggest quibble was the soundtrack, which always had this annoying lady singing. Gargh.

But I liked Brad Pitt as Achilles- they showed his characterization well, I thought. If they’d done Anakin well in Episodes 2 and 3 of Star Wars, he would have turned out like this. Orlando Bloom was Paris, which was perfect because now I had twice as many opportunities for mocking (1. stupid character 2. annoying actor). Hector was also portrayed pretty well. Sean Bean was Odysseus, which made me happy because he actually got to live! (I don’t know, in the other movies I’ve seen him, he usually dies.)

    So I guess all and all, it’s a B.
