    Yo DWest!

You should chat with my male friend, who is a Whovian.

D’awwwwww…..can’t wait. XD Gonna be so much fun!

In other news, in order to survive in the mean time, I am watching Sarah Jane Adventures. So very kid-oriented and more than slightly ridiculous. But whispers I’m enjoying it. :]

Luke is such a designed woobie/deus ex machina it isn’t even funny, but I feel that if I don’t like him, it would be akin to throwing kittens at a wall. So “awwwwwww”

Thanks for the welcome guys, haha I'm a bit late in getting back to you. Spring Break and not having to deal with school for a week is nice. :)

Hmmm, my favorite of the Who audios would probably have to be The Holy Terror, there are LOTS of other good ones. Honestly they're pretty much all golden. :)

Tom Baker? Teaming up with Big Finish?

I'm sorry, all I can say to that is DO WANT!!!

Jon Culshaw does a perfect impression of him of course, but it's just not as good as the real thing. Baker is, like a lot of other people, "my" Doctor, the one I grew up watching. It says Nicholas Courtney is going to be involved as well, the Brigadier and the 4th Doctor together... the space awesome continuum better get ready for a whole new rift.

I wasn’t too sure about Matt Smith at first, but he was great in the first episode. I think I’m going to love the new series with Moffat at the helm. I’m looking forward to the next episode; that shot of space-Britain with all the buildings labelled made me laugh.

  6.

I saw bits and pieces of the first episode (will watch all of it once I get back home). And so far, the vague reactions from this episode that I’m seeing seem to be…

Casual fans: AWESOME EPISODE! But they changed the theme music… D:

    Fanboys: Amy Pond… drools

Cynical fans: Fuck yes, Doctor Who is watchable again.

Old Who Purists: It sucks. All of this new Who sucks. I’d rather it be the good old days where the stories lasted for 6 episodes and all the monsters were in rubber suits and the Doctor was a violent bastard instead of this emotionally complex girly-boy. God, those were the days.

  7.

I think Matt Smith is really gonna do this role well. It needed some nuance after the PASSION of DT (Who I still miss…).

dons smoking jacket Matt Smith has played smaller roles most of the time in the past, meaning that he has to act in subtle ways to bring depth to his less screentime’d character. It’s gonna be good. I felt the he was neither emulating DT nor was he being an ANTI-DT. He was utterly and totally his own.

Dad was like: And when he said “I am the Doctor; listen to me!” he really was imposing. YEAH.

    Enjoyed the first episode.

Still hate the new music. :(

That was a weird episode. Job titles do fit the Daleks better than names though, and the bronze was getting dull. They also seem much more devious and dangerous, which makes a nice change from how ineffective they’ve recently been.

I finally saw the first episode. Matt Smith is cute. I think I like him as the Doctor, but I’m unsure. I’m just anxious to see what the daleks look like now, because a friend told me they’ve changed. (I love daleks. They’re so cute…)

I loved the scene with the previous Doctors. Twas EPIC.

The new theme song sounds like some weird crackly feedback into my hearing equipments.

And the DALEKS! Unbelievable colours. I don’t think I really like those new colours much…

  11.

Go! Go! Dalek Rangers! as I have heard it referenced.

I didn’t like the sudden additions of all sorts of characteristics to the weeping angels. Like the “In your eye” thing. It was brilliantly cool, but as it wasn’t set up earlier (in Blink…they looked at their eyes the whole time…), so it kinda came off as “where did this come from?”
I do like consistency in my shows and if we keep adding characteristics on to our monsters, soon they will be undefeatable save by deus ex machina.

    Next one looks awesome, tho.

  12.

  15.

I’m told I should start watching DW, but I’m getting a bit of Archive Panic. What season should I start with? I already know David Tennant from Casanova, but is that too late in the show? Should I start earlier?

  16.

Start at Rose. But if you’re really feeling the archive panic, just start at The Eleventh Hour.

  17.

The Eleventh Hour is the finale of season four isn’t it?

I’m feeling the same way as Puppet and SMAlien. I’ve only seen episodes 1, 4, 5, and 6 of the latest series, Silence in the Library, and the one with Donna set in Pompeii. And not in that order.

Man, finally got around to watching it.

The opening pre-credits was, again, a credit to Moffat. For me, HELLO SWEETIE is still hilariously funny and brilliant. I loved the inclusion of all the mains from the previous episodes, it made me squee inside. :3

My brain had to shut off for the first bit after the credits, because all I could scream was RIVER, YOU HAVEN’T MET AMY YET. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU KNOW HER OR AREN’T INTERESTED IN MEETING THE NEW COMPANION.

Which is going to lead me to re-watch the Angels, to look at how River acted then. ‘Cos I swear she treated her like new!Companion.

But, the best bit about it was Matt Smith. My goodness, his acting. The Doctor should never look that scared. It broke my heart, and those final moments actually made me Very Afraid. D8

I’m gonna watch it again, that’s if I can take scared!Doctor.

    Cold Blood spoilahs:

This is going to get confusing, because some people are watching on the American schedule (which is up to, what, episode 9 (Cold Blood) now? Or 10 (The Lodger)?), some people are watching on the British schedule (first half of the finale/The Pandorica Opens), and some people are just watching whenever. So label your spoilers carefully!
