Because this isn’t exactly a quibble or a victory.

BUT WE SHOULD HAVE WON. BOOOOOO!

At least we were on the offensive in the second half, Yanks!

I’ll be supporting Australia, what about you?

    Match Dates.

  1.

Some girl on Omegle was drooling over Benny Feilhaber.

  2.

I watched most of it for the sake of the USA possibly trolling countries who care about soccer, but I found it aggressively dull. People who weren’t near the ball just milled around aimlessly, those horns were beyond grating, and what the hell is this stoppage time nonsense? Why not just stop the clock?

Still probably going to watch the rest of the USA’s games, for the original reason I mentioned.

You know, I almost missed the England goal during the match because I was busy fighting my way through to the bar to buy another beer.

That’s how fast they were. :D

    Gonna be in a beer-less and crowd-less venue for the next match though. ;_;

5 minutes, yes it is impressive. And I’m going to say that USA should have got their arses handed to them on a silver platter and that our goal never should have gone in. But it did. :D

So we lost to Slovenia in a daring daylight robbery. Fie on that official. Fie I say.

That was terrible officiating. The US team’s third goal was the most prominent example, but there were numerous poor calls throughout the game.

    I must find out.

Just because the Siberia people bathe in ice water doesn’t mean they’re the world’s best soccer players.

Glorious victory for the Anglosphere! Hey, all you English Imps, I know there was tension when our teams played last week, and our countries haven’t always been the best of friends, but we love you guys. This is the way it should be. USA + ENG bros for life.

I've grown up in a soccer family, so I've been enjoying the tournament immensely.

I thought the US had a great run. Their defense is absolute SHIT though. They should be ashamed. But the offense was pretty solid. And I'm glad Donovan stepped up this World Cup, because his last one was pathetic. But his goal against Slovenia was amazing. That video of everyone's reactions was great. I was disappointed by the England-USA game. We did not play nearly as well as we usually do. They gave England way too much credit and could easily have won.

One team I despise is Portugal. Hated them last World Cup, and it hasn't changed much. I thought they were assholes to win 7-0 against North Korea. I think after you get 3-0 or at the most 4-0 you need to start playing defense.

And the vuvuzelas...I get really annoyed with them. Although to say FIFA should have banned them is a little much. As much as I dislike them, it's part of the culture, and you can't get rid of that.

And the refs...truly appalling. They totally fucked up on the two USA goals, and it makes me really angry. And they keep giving out yellow cards for no reason. Especially Kaka's. And the English goal...wow. That was awful. This is the part of soccer that I totally hate.

But now that most of my favorite teams are out, I'm supporting the Netherlands and Argentina. But I'm predicting the Netherlands lose to Brazil and Argentina will lose to Germany (although I wouldn't be too upset). Also, I hope Portugal gets their shit rocked against Spain and cries. Same with Ghana. Their constant diving against the US was making me really angry.
